Intricate repairs. Can we handle this?

I can't believe you're working on an old grandfather clock! We moved in 2020 and after owning our 150+ year old grandfather clock since I was a girl, it decided not to run after the move. My husband & son tried to fix it and we even tried to find a professional to repair it but not many of those guys around anymore. Just recently I had a talk with the old clock. I told it I was going to try to get it running one last time but if I fail, it was going to Goodwill. I googled everything about that style of old clock and low & behold...I fixed it!! A part had come loose but it wasn't obvious so the boys missed it. I not only got a round of applause from our grown kids but also got an education on clock repair. 😎

Wonderful! What a great feeling to fix something you thought was done for. I replaced the light in my oven a few weeks ago & I'm so proud of myself! Thanks to padding for my knees, KZbin videos, & WD40 (it's okay in the oven, just a bit/electricity off), I have a light in my oven again. Took me 2 days to get the "baked on" cover off, & then get the bulb out (more WD40) BUT now the light works! And I made a plant rooter out of the carefully emptied out bulb. Yay me! I'm 68 btw.

What fun you had with the clock. If nothing else, the laughter and giggles are worth more than the clock. ! Yep, November ahead, time change ahead ( yuck), i have 30 days to get Christmas in order, meaning all ordered since no stores close by. BUT I know what I'm buying, so that's huge. Enjoy all those giggles.

We go to my son’s house every Halloween. They go out with neighbors; fun to see all the kids. We hand out the candy, and keep the dog company. Hopefully I’ll get a mounds bar or two from the grandchildren’s haul. It will be huge.

We had a clock like that. Somebody in the family didn't like the sound of it. He stopped the hanging middle thing from moving. Clocksmith had to fix that, cost thousands. But I still believe in you two 😅

My sisters, my husband, and I always order in and I hand out candy. The little ones are so cute but the teenagers are very creative and always say thank you. I have to carve my pumpkin this week, as well.

I was reminded of the nursery rhyme Hickory Dickory Dock. I hope you can get the clock repaired. I don't know if anyone does that as a profession anymore. Such a shame that these skills are being lost. Anyway, not doing anything here for Halloween. We don't get trick or treaters. My nephew is going around the neighborhood and has been invited by one of his friends to go to his friend's church Trunk or Treat. I'll probably just snuggle up and watch a movie or two.

Fun watching you two trying to figure out the clock. Hope you are able to pull it off. In the south we can't seem to get a break this year. Saturday was hottest Oct. 26 on record here! Homes in my neighborhood are far apart with hilly streets and driveways so most kids head to other neighborhoods where homes are closer together and faster to get to. Still I will buy candy for any stragglers and of course eat it too! I can't resist. Hope you get closed in soon so you can warm the place up!

I took my 5 year old granddaughter to the theatre to see 101 Dalmatian’s, she is now obsessed with patch ha ha, she is going trick or treating as a bat ha ha……you are like me, I wouldn’t be able to give up on that clock ha ha, I was at a friends house the other day and couldn’t leave until I had untangled a necklace she had on a shelf that had been there a while and it was driving me nuts😂
