I needed this! Ground Advantage was only what I used if I had the “right box” I was re-using from my own purchases. Never thought I could get such huge poly mailers for larger items!! Thank you!

I have probably been the most insecure with shipping and the options, and think it might have been holding me back from jumping in. I also struggle with the multitude of programs to manage posting items, inventory, editing pics, managing discounts, and all the things. Thanks for this information. You are a valuable source of information for all of us.

Thank you! Please do a priority mail video. Can you also do a returns video too?

Thanks for this video. It is so helpful and priority shipping video would be awesome 👍🏻😁 Thanks!

Ok sooo priority mail with calculated shipping is super pricey from California so I always go ground and calculated. I’m starting to try flat rate like how Poshmark does… This is the trickiest part for me so far in my eBay business. Thankyou for this video! I didn’t realize how much I need these

This is such a great video - I wish I had watched it when I first started selling on eBay. You are such a valuable source of info!

Thank you this is the first shipping video from anyone I could understand! One question is that the buyer is charged by eBay for shipping. But you had to pay for the label. Do you then get what the buyer was charged for shipping if so when?
@cayleyelaine2 ай бұрын
You get the money in your ebay account (as long as there are no holds on your account) as soon as the buyer places the order.

I noticed that you just put the measurement of the polymailer that your using. But once you put the item inside and fold it over, the package itself is no longer that size. Should we re-measure at this point or does it even matter. I never see people actually measuring their packages for shipping. Thank you for the video!

Do you do ever do flat rate shipping price or always just charge what the actual cost is for where it is going to? I’ve been doing flat rate no matter what. Thanks!
@cayleyelaine2 ай бұрын
I mostly do calculated but if something fits in a padded fr envelope we select that.

Thanks for the great video! Do you ever change the height of the package to less than 4 inches? Wouldn't that make some prices even less?
@cayleyelaine2 ай бұрын
Changing the height should not effect the price unless the height becomes larger than the width and length. USPS looks at the 2 largest dimensions on an item.
@darlapanabaker93492 ай бұрын
@@cayleyelaine Hey Cayley & Crew, I am a small seller compared to you. I disagree with the changing of the height of a package. I sell mostly jeans and I find the thinner-flatter I can make a package the better my ground advantage rate is. I double checked today with a package weighing 2 pounds and using your measurements of 10x9x4 and the shipping price was $7.43. I changed the height to 1 inch and it was only $6.62. Saving me 81 cents! (I know it might vary depending on where the seller is and where it is being shipped to) I experimented with the height and found that 1 inch was the cheapest, 2 & 3 inches are the same rate, and anything 4 inches and over is the same rate. Just wanted to let you know what works for me.🙂

@@darlapanabaker9349 appreciate it! I will test this out and see if it makes a difference for us. We do not normally have any 1 inch height packages.

@@cayleyelaine I usually do 12x12x1 to make it as flat as possible. Comes up with the same pricing as your 10x9x1 size.

You have to keep it plugged in if you want it to consistently stay on.

As we are located in the northwest US, I also offer a choice of ga or priority for some items yet it seems that buyers are unaware of possible options and always use the shipping option prominently shown on the listing page. I'm sure that not being aware of options discourages buyers that are across the country. How do you let buyers know they have choices other than just offering them?
@cayleyelaine2 ай бұрын
I do nothing additional to let them know unless they ask. From what I can tell, ebay shows them their cheapest option first.

I have been watching a ton of these videos and my understanding was that ground advantage is only for items under 1 lb? I'm confused now

That was first class. First class has been replaced by ground advantage and is a new service with new rules.

why do u update weight if it's still between 1lb and 2lb? everything is one price. it's unnecessary step. you have to double check if your estimate weight was on the crossline between 1lb, 2lb, 3lb. it could change the price.

Are you doing anything in particular that causes the customer to pay more in shipping than you end up having to pay? When I sell on eBay, I use calculated shipping, and eBay just charges me the same exact amount that the customer was charged for shipping (unless I initially listed it as a heavier weight than the item ended up being). But if the weight stayed the same, and the customer paid $6.45 for shipping, it costs me $6.45 to ship it through eBay. So I’m curious what you’re doing differently to get some extra profit off of shipping on most of your sales? My only guess is that you are paying for a higher level of eBay store subscription than me and it gives you a larger discount(?), but let me know if it’s something else!
@cayleyelaine2 ай бұрын
Ebay has an option where you can charge your buyer your commercial price. You may have that option checked.
