Oh man! I can see this on a larger scale with two more of these arched rooms extending from both sides of the arched walls, like a cross. Very nice.

Like your design's. We live in belize where we get hurricanes would these hold up well in a tropical place? Thanks
@domegaia Жыл бұрын
These are very strong buildings and they are perfect for tropical places.

I’d love to build this in Cambodia! Where to get the machines? Maybe you could host a workshop on my land ❤

I was thinking about another design i had even if its been done. I just havent searched. I had a drawing of a star home 5 connected purposed rooms. I originally wanted an earth home with this done as domes but no contracters near to do the project at the time. Now I am looking again but just a place to retire and keep warm. May not need 5 rooms anymore. Just have to learn the system.

Outstanding! Does it sit directly on the ground or is there a layer of aircrete bricks under the vinyl planks?

What other options would you suggest for a base? Is a wood deck recommended?
@domegaia Жыл бұрын
It is build on a standard foundation. In this case it's a slab but you could also do a stem wall foundation. Its possible you could also build on a steel frame but we haven't done any engineering on that yet.

How well would aircrete do in northern climates? Like extreme winter conditions such as -50 degrees unoccupied during the wintertime
@khymchristensen1237 Жыл бұрын
In addition there would be many feet of Snow covering the structures until Spring thaw .. is there a snow load and or temperature ratings for your building methods yet?
@domegaia Жыл бұрын
Aircrete can work very well in cold climates and it all depends on how thick you make the walls. Domes do very well with snow load. Aircrete is also very tight so you don't have air leaking trough like you often do with wood construction.

Thank you for your response! I'm looking at property near Denali Park, Alaska and researching possible alternative buildings ideas for cabins that can withstand the extreme cold environment found there

Can you build an conventional L shaped building with aircrete or does it have to be dome shaped?
@domegaia Жыл бұрын
You can do conventional.

What's the total cost and what does it include? How expensive to do everything without furniture?
@domegaia Жыл бұрын
It will vary depending on the price of materials in your area but roughly around $10k for everything except the furnature.
@stillmind5892 Жыл бұрын
@@domegaia Thanks. So this is with windows, finish, plumbing and electricity? Why is the cost in the video in which you build a 300ft2 dome so much lower? Costing just 1500$, whereas in another video there is a structure twice as big for around 10x as much(with everything)? What creates so much cost?
@domegaia Жыл бұрын
@@stillmind5892 The $15,000 domes where build a few years ago before material costs went up a lot. Also we made everything in that dome by hand including the doors, windows, bathtub, floors etc so that kept the cost very low. We also made the foundation out of aircrete. I've noticed that building materials vary quite a lot in price these days depending on where you are so you really need to check your local prices.

"10' x 12' long" Is this interior dimensions or the foundation?
