Hey Folks, here's a video showing you guys how we introduce the human aggressive dogs to guests or strangers in the home. Many dogs become fearful or aggressive when family, friends or the mail man come over. This video explains how to handle that situation with your dog. Remember to take things slow and do not move forward until your dog accepts or becomes comfortable with the situation.

I adopted a shelter dog, with fear aggression issues. The biggest factor I have found in socializing her to other people, is how calm the other person is. Dogs reflect human's energy levels. You did a great job emphasizing how calm your guests were, and the fact that they ignored the dog as a sign of respect. Instead of the misconception that staring at how cute a dog is, or immediately patting it on the head is something okay to do.

My dog is very attentive when I call his name, he comes straight to me. He will sit and stay. Working on a solid “down” and “quiet”. But the moment someone walks through the door even if it’s someone who comes over often, he loses his mind and zones me out. He is a 1 year old 20 lb shih-poo. When I take him out, as long as his sister isn’t around, he listens very well and isn’t as aggressive. We are pretty sure he’s protecting her. He hasn’t bit, but he lightly nips and bumps with his nose at peoples ankles. His sister (3 year old shih tzu) is very calm and has always been great around people and especially loves babies. Now my friends with children can’t even come over. Really appreciate the video and will keep working on it with him.

My dog is a loving and great dog at the vet clinic and groomers that some of them ask me to keep him. But he barks and lunges on walks and get territorial when someone visit. If the guest stays longer for an hour he started trusting them and be normal around them but horrible with introductions

same. Just yesterday, I tried to have a sleepover and my dog Lexi went insane. I don’t want to keep her in her cage all the time but I’m afraid if I let her out she’ll bite people. She always barks soo loud at strangers in the house to. I think it’s a protective thing.

I agreed to foster a Pit Bull but the rescue group has failed both of us, sadly. My boy is a sweet guy but he doesn’t like strangers, mostly men. (Which is not good because I’m single🤦🏼‍♀️) I refuse to fail this dog. I’m re-introducing my dad to him tomorrow and I’m nervous. Thank you for making this video. Abbi Goose I would try and explain why for her its not good. She should have the option to be touched or not you know? Try keeping her away from people that won’t listen to you.

My dog has fear aggression if I’m on a walk she’ll get scared but if it’s home she’ll bark and growl but if I’m not home she won’t bark because she knows there’s no one to protect her it’s fear aggression

What do you do if a chihuahua seems to be fine after a while, then THE moment a person moves or something he barks and even goes to nipping? I'm still in the process of training him and would like advice :) He seems to be very scared due to his past (got him from the shelter)

Angel W that means you will have to advocate during the circumstances those triggers are present. You will have to give the dog some sort or consequence when he does this to help him realize this is not right and the behavior it not necessary.

@@Majorsacademy She has not to give the dog some consequences, she has to ask herself why she has not socialized that dog correctly and do the socialization new, step by step. Friendly and without your animal abusing bullshit.

@@saarlooswolfhund6237 socialization doesn't mean a dog will EVER be fine with it. Training is rewards and consequences. What do you think it is when we don't give a dog a treat for not doing a behavior? A consequence. If dogs have willful obedience then they also have willful disobedience. Not giving a dog everything they want is not abuse. Forcing a dog to socialize with people they do not want to is.

My 2 year old shih Tzu is a spoiled stubborn brat who does not listen all the time. She barks when guest come over , runs up to them barking until she sees they’re familiar she will lay on her back and act so sweet . It’s annoying some people won’t come over because she can act a little crazy with her barking ( 1 person ) everyone else ignores her but please any tips to help with this issue ....

I'm going to try this .. dog training is expensive.. so I am trying to see my mini toy Australian shepherd stop with thY aggression.. he wasn't like that at all.. I got him when he was a puppy he was 3 months I socialize him with people when he was a pup I took him to walks people pet him &my family loves him they pet him & he loved every second of it ... He is now 3 yrs old & he is different.. he started to get aggressive towards people &he bite a few of my friends & almost bite my neighbor crossing the street ..my mother in law took care of him as a puppy she never hurt him any of my family members never hurt him they shower him with love since a pup.. now his growling at them & don't want to be touched or held by any of them.. I can't even have guest anymore because of his aggressive behavior & biting problem... I don't know what happend!!! He wasn't like this.!!! He changed all of a sudden?!!! I want to know what happend to the sweet pup I used to have now turned into an aggressive dog.?!

I would definitely consider training. Depending on where you live if he bites the wrong person then your dog could be taken from you. Part of owning a dog is making sure they get the proper education to keep the healthy and alive. Feel free to call for some advice. 920-265-2090 - Jeremy

My chihuahuas both bark at any sign of the door opening and a stranger steps in, one barks all the time at anyone coming in, and even to going up stairs when they are relaxed in a secluded room

thats what happens when you buy a dog and are too lazy to train it and socialize it, you should have socialized your dog that’s your responsibility as a dog owner buddy, if they bark then you have to punish them

I have recently gotten a pit husky that's 2 years old. Hes fear aggresive and has nipped a child and adult and is at risk of being euthanized. He was fine with other dogs when I got him as well but now hes energetic and aggressive when theres dogs. Idk what to do cause I love him.

Hi, great video! I was wondering if you had tips for the best set up aside from tying the dog to the wall, we have a large pyrenees, he's reactive and lunges to new guests mainly men, would thus same practice be effective keeping him in the down position in a crate? He is protective of me and we are looking for best practices, thank you

I took my puppy from a dog foster home about a year ago. I love him to bits; he has a great personality, and I feel that he loves our family so much. BUT he barks and whines A LOT. . So, leaving home is always a challenge for us. My husband and I were thinking about taking him to 'doggy school', but then again, it’s extremely expensive, and the nearest 'doggy school' is far away from us. Maybe you have some advice? We had problems with our dog also. He used to bark and chew shoes, table etc when we were not at home. Both my husband and I work a lot and had no time to take our Bud to dog training classes. We asked one friend who works in foster care (he is always surrounded by dogs) what we should do. He recommended one online dog behavior trainer. So, my dog is very selective and it's at a random. I dont understand her triggers or anything and never have. She doesnt like strangers, is very protective of me, and home defensive. Some people shes cool with, kthers she isnt and ive never known how she interprets it and i dont like not being able to have frineds or family over because she might bute. I cant afford a trainer, i can only afford her veterinarian visits and her livelyhood with me. Trying to get her to be okay with everyone, but its been hard. I got her 7months after she was abused and it took a while to get her not being timid with people, but since about a year and half, she randomly, sewmingly, chooses to dislike people and try to bite them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

WHOcoryWTF When the dog is total calm (almost indifferent) to them. Takes about 10 minutes. The pets won’t hurt them if they are tought not to bite.

So my dog flips out when I’m home and not. At home, I can do things to help him to stop barking such as, making him wait, sit, be quiet, that kind of thing. However, I have a roommate that my dog absolutely is terrified of. And when I’m not home, and my roommate comes home, my dog will poop and pee all over the floor and bark and run away. How can I train him out of that?

AM44 _ They eventually learn to stay once they experience consistency from the owner. The environment must come second to our leadership in order to stay but more importantly to learn that the behavior is not necessary.

I have a five-year-old rescue border collie we have had for 4 years suddenly he's become aggressive when people come to the door any barks and growls. We hold him because it's a new Behavior he is apologetic to the person he has barked and growled at and spends the entire time trying to make up to him or her. Any suggestions would help!
