022422. MugetsuTV, I just reached my 2 years of being ARMY, and have watched plenty of YT reactions. A couple of things that affect my overall reaction experience/response are: Many times I will watch a reaction to one of the profusion of BTS performances or related videos *without having watched the original material first* . Therefore, I like a bigger BTS video screen. I like to be able to identify the guys, and to read the subs. We aren't watching for a reactor's location background. Also I'm surprised that most reactors don't seem to realize that *when positioning the small screen at the bottom right or left* , when we pause to read the video subs, *much of the tiny CC text is covered up* by the time elapsed line, and the various icons at the bottom, such as time, play/pause, volume, CC, settings, full screen, etc., making trying to read them a strain. In your case, even when not pausing, the video screen bottom right positioning has most of the subs hidden by your "MUGETSU" logo.

Just a small note about something you said during Jin's section. There are five main vocal ranges, from highest to lowest: - Soprano (female voice) - Alto (female voice) - Tenor (male voice) - Baritone (male voice) - Bass (male voice) For opera singers, each vocal range has different types within each range (i.e. countertenor vs. lyric tenor), but for everyday reference the five categories are usually enough. A well-trained singer can straddle ranges (V is a good example of this, as he's a natural baritone who often sings in the tenor range). That said, there's a firm dividing line between categories for male & female voices; the highest male voice isn't an alto or soprano, it's a countertenor, and the lowest female voice isn't a tenor, it's a contralto.

"That's a really low number." Jin is only 29 and didn't start his musical training until he was a university student, so his accomplishments for someone who didn't do any singing or dancing growing up is damn impressive. By the way Jin's solo song "Moon" is the highest ranking BTS song on Rolling Stone's 2020 list of “75 Greatest Boy Band Songs of All Time." It was number 5. It's about quality, not quantity.

Jungkook is most relatable because fans are around his age? I'm 72 and not the oldest BTS fan I've found. What I like about BTS is there is someone for everyone. This is how I see them: RM - intellectual and a poet Suga - stoic and deeply honest lyrics J-Hope - a bit of a clown on the outside, surprisingly mysterious Jin - relatable. Shy but uninhibited. Ballad voice V - an odd duck. Sexy, but quirky. Gritty soulful voice Jimin - men and women think he's sexy. Chameleon? Grace and vocal range. Jungkook - all round talent. Great technical skills just beginning to mature. Extroverts are RM, J-Hope, and V Introverts are Suga, Jin, Jimin, and Jungkook. Can you tell I like "our boys"? 💜

You mentioned the number of credits each have and yes you can see the rapline is the heavy lifters for song writing with Suga having the most producer credits (vs songwriter/lyric credits). The vocal line is much newer to song writing and has learned from the rapline. Some of them find it fun and easier than others with the two youngest posting lots of song snippets or free songs they have written. What is different about BTS from other groups is they run like a year long music camp always writing and submitting music/lyrics for feedback to the company and each other. Tons of behind the scenes footage of the rapline passing lyrics back and forth on paper while getting dressed for a show etc. They all fill a different role in the group and always say it doesn’t work if someone is missing. They really inspire and motivate each other as humans and artists.

Another interesting tidbit these introductory videos never mention is that 6 out of the 7 members are college graduates. They all have their bachelors degree and are now pursuing their masters degree. Only the youngest member Jungkook is still working towards his bachelor degree. How they find time to study with such a hectic schedule blows my mind. And BTS is older than Stray Kids. Stray Kids debuted in 2018 I believe and BTS debuted in 2013. And the age range of Stray Kids members range from 21-24. Current ages of BTS members from oldest to youngest Jin- age 29 Suga- age 28 (will be 29 on March 9th) J-Hope- age 28 RM- age 27 Jimin- age 26 V- age 26 Jungkook- age 24

Those clips at the end were from their documentaries and shows, RUN BTS, (150 episodes), BON VOYAGE, (4 seasons), IN THE SOOP (2 seasons) and 3 movies, BURN THE STAGE, BRING THE SOUL, AND BREAK THE SILENCE. And that is just some of it. They design merch, do interviews, appear on shows, have all graduated college (except for the youngest who is still busy) and are now doing masters degrees. You honestly have no idea how hard these guys work!

You mentioned that Jin had a "real low number" of songs to his credit. Remember that he had no interest in music before becoming a trainee for Big Hit. He had no experience dancing or singing before then. He started from scratch and had to learn it all. So I give him big props. He has come an amazingly long way.

Thank you for diving in and showing appreciation for their talents and hard work. A lot of people don't give BTS enough credit and throw a stigmatized version of the term "Boy band" on them. I personally don't feel that boyband is a bad term, because many have talent, but generally they hardly ever get labeled as real artist, and all ARMY know these members have a passion for what they do, and they enjoy bringing their music to the stage and sharing those emotions with the crowd.

You summarized BTS and Stray Kids perfectly. Stray Kids are rebellious, they do what they want and do it well. But BTS "brand" is now so mature, something I have never really realized before you mentioned it. They used to be known as the underdogs, outrageous kids that spoke their minds in their songs surrounded by other young idols trained to "perfection" and not allowed to express themself yet. They were the "rebellious" group back in the day. BTS wasn't trained to perfection because Big Hit(now Hybe) was and still is all about auticendy and allowed BTS to be kids and write and produce their own music. Do mistakes, complain, and just experience themself and let them grow. Stray Kids were left to their own devices by their companies, something that is very uniqe as well in that field. It's strange to come to the realization that BTS are now seniors in their work. Those young adults/teens really have come so far. As people and as a group. Although I am more of a fan of BTS, I really do appreciate and support Stray Kids. I see great potential in them, similar but still unique to what OG ARMY saw in BTS. I hope to see them come far and be a new example for Idols that has the freedom to make their own things. Both BTS and StrayKids have each their own really mature, reliable but also a kind leader. Who leads a group of a dedicated but unique and talented group of people. They both have names protecting youth: -Bangtan Sonyeondan/Bulletproof Boy Scouts(BTS) means: "to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim at adolescents like bullets". -Stray kids meaning: "a refuge for other “Stray Kids”, to let them know that they aren't the only ones struggling toward their futures". I hope to see BTS continue to drive the K-pop scene forward, and I hope to see Stray Kids prove that BTS wasn't just a fluke. That Idols can be real musicians if they are just allowed to express themself.

I looked to see how many BTS songs you’ve listened to and, wow, have you got a long way to go….which is a good thing. BTS has over 250 tracks/songs in their current discography and are preparing for a comeback (Korean way of saying new album). If you want some direction with plotting a way forward, we ARMY will help in any way possible. Hope you chose to dive in head first. I guarantee you’ve never encountered a group with as much diversity in music styles. R&B, hip-hop, Rock, Neo-Soul, Jazz, Pop and it goes on. Have fun!

bts debuted in 2013, though as you saw, they started forming since 2010 with RM. stray kids are both younger and newer, since they debuted in 2018. I can’t speak on stray kids since I don’t know them well, but bts are very close and will be celebrating 8 years as a group this June, so I’m sure it’s different energies for a lot of reasons. Here's info that some still aren't aware of: ❤️JIMIN, at age 11-12 started studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (excelled), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan where he's from! He was so good that an instructor even had the high tuition fee waived at one point! This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy. Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!! So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to join, being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! But Jimin was so good that he was assigned the official title of one of the two Main Dancers, as well as Lead Vocalist. Jimin was even assigned most of the high notes since the very beginning, because even without all that training in the beginning, he was that good, a natural born singer who, just like his dancing makes you feel every emotion and feeling he's trying to convey! JIMIN, also, for 8 yrs, since a quite young boy, trained in various forms (4), of martial arts: Taekwondo (Blackbelt), Hapkido, Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo), & Chinese martial arts. He even won a scholarship, the only student to do so, to study more extensively in China for awhile! All the martial arts training has given JIMIN his phenomenal inner core strength, as well as his amazing flexibility, which has enabled Jimin to achieve all those breathtakingly spectacular gravity defying dance moves! JIMIN has found a way to incorporate all his various dance disciplines, as well as his extensive training in martial arts into his unique, ever so special, outstandingly amazing dancing abilities!! JIMIN, has been called 'Stage Commander', known for his amazing, so mesmerizing stage presence. Each dance move is executed flawlessly, his extensions all the way to the fingertips, his lines so clean, his fluidity, his poise & elegance, his ever so graceful moves, but yet, sharp, quick & deliberate when required! The members of BTS are complete artists, with great skills and a great talent to develop them.Year of joining the company and voices: RM.- The first member, joined in 2010. Baritone with the deepest voice when speaking Suga.- He joined in 2010. They classify him as a baritone although he once mentioned being bass J-Hope.- He joined almost at the end of 2010. Baritone Jin.- Joined in 2011. Lyrical tenor Jungkook.- He joined in 2011, days after Jin. is tenor V.- He joined a few months later in 2011. He is a baritone with the deepest voice when singing (he has the widest vocal range of the group) Jimin.- He joined in 2012. He is a light tenor, some classify him as a counter tenor, is very high-pitched when singing, so he hits notes that even many women don't. My bias is V, I love his voice which is naturally soulful, but he is also a good performer so he conveys well the feelings of each song (joy, fun, sadness, nostalgia, etc), plus his lyrics and melodies are very special . The other 6 members I like equally. Jin and RM are great friends (even their parents too), they didn't fight over who had more power (leader or eldest), they both shared the job of taking care of others, they were like the mom and dad of the group. At first, Jin was the one who cooked for them and sometimes even brought what was necessary for it from his house. As his schedule increased, he no longer did it, but he was also allergic to garlic, which is widely used in Korea, so he is no longer the main cook on trips, and most of them cook In JK's case, he wasn't the only one who went to school (he even left her for a year to finish preparing and debut), and even entered the company just a few days apart from Jin, and several months before that V, in Jimin's case did it a year later. Currently they are still studying, several to finish or start their master's degree (V and Jimin), JK to finish his bachelor's degree. JK has a very stable voice, let's say he was born with "autotune" built into his throat. When RM said that there was no replacement for JK, it was because being the lead singer has more presence in songs, harmonies and even replacing others if they were missing (rapper or vocalist); not because his age was that of the fandom. There are 5 years of difference between him and Jin, so if your theory were true, he would not be the only one close to the age of the fans; but in reality Army (their fandom) is so diverse that most of us are older than the oldest, there are from little ones of 1 or 2 years old to great-grandparents. Here it does not matter age, nationality, language, race, beliefs, gender.

I’d love to hear more reviews from you. They were trainees 13 -18 years old, debuted 15-20 years old. Because they came from a small agency with no money, they were always mistreated and fought hard for tv time. Their fans are of all ages, yes some are teenagers but mostly over 25 and up, I’m 72 and have been a fan since 2016-2017. Jin graduated college with a degree in acting; this is why he is the one acting in their videos. One suggestion: can you please either move the video up so the subtitles are not behind your logo? It’s hard to understand if they are hidden. Thanks

Yes V is the Jazz and RnB soul of the group he's a baritone and learning how to play the trumpet too recently, if you want to hear more from him those are some of his solo songs: V ( singularity MV + stage mix (RnB) . Very good reaction, I hope you continue to see the presentations, MV and songs of this group, which is very particular, because they have a lot of message in their lyrics and in their art. They are special, for that reason, because of their way of seeing the world. (Age in Koreans is something that is rare to understand, they add one more year, and when the year begins they add another, haha, peculiarities of the culture. But for us Jin will be 30, Suga is 29, RM and JHope 28, V and Jimin 27 and J Kook 25 .in this 2022)

I don't think it's so much that the vocal-line don't have a lot of credits, it's more that the rap-line is basically insane. There are maybe twenty idols in the k-pop industry's history who have over a hundred credits, BTS is the only group with three members at that level. They also started doing it very early on, and a lot of it comes down to their pride as rappers and the fact that BTS had it's origins in hip-hop, they very rarely will rap something they didn't write themselves. Suga and RM came in already writing and producing their own songs, and as J-Hope wrote a majority of his own raps from the beginning he had more of a chance to be credited and to pick up the skills to contribute more. The Vocal Line have been credited more and more as the years go by, releasing their own solo works and contributing to group releases. But something also to take into consideration is that the credit numbers depend on what gets released to the public, the members all submit ideas/melodies/lyrics etc. for songs that don't end up getting selected because multiple members have put their hat in the ring for it (e.g. V had an alternate melody for Spring Day, but RM's got selected instead). Plus there are dozens of songs that they write and just never end up releasing a full version of.

RM being the leader and Jin being the oldest and having the 'most authority' will most likely never be an issue because they respect RM as the leader and Jin as the eldest hyung (korean term used by younger males when addressing their older male brothers). As said in the video, Jin doesn't use his power much and i think that's because the younger members doesn't cross the line either. RM has his boundary as a leader and acts like one when he needs to, but respect his hyungs (Jin, Suga, J-Hope), as well as the other members. Jin also becomes a member and the eldest hyung if he needs to but most of the time, plays and have fun with them. They respect each other's role in the group and that's one of the things that makes their bond strong. I don't know how to put it in exact words but i hope you get it. And about the KOMCA credits, the vocal line has lesser credits because they're not one of the primary song writers. 69 year old ARMY here. RM is an incredible leader. He has an IQ of 148 and a high emotional intelligence so although he is in the middle by age he was the ideal choice. His job as leader is to mediate with the company and the members. He provides emotional support to the other members, a lot to put on the shoulders of a 19 year old as he was when they debuted. Jin keeps everyone laughing with his dad jokes. He was going to be an actor but he stepped off a bus and into a whole other world. Jin never uses his authority as eldest choosing to support by raising his fellow members’ spirits. JK is the group’s centre so from debut at age 15 he carried their group performances on his shoulders. He usually sings the song guide and then they decide together who will sing which part. Ages as of March ‘22, Jin and SUGA -29, RM - 27, J-Hope - 28, Jimin and V - 26 and JUNGKOOK - 24. They all have degrees now with some of them now working towards their Masters. They’ve spoken at the UN and gained cultural awards in Korea. They are consummate professionals and work their socks off even though they are now at the top of the tree. They always strive to work harder and get genuinely upset when they feel that they haven’t done their best when they’re under the weather. Welcome to the rabbit hole. It’s deep, warm and a lot of fun down here. Oh, and if you have Netflix watch V in Hwarang. It’s a good story and he was great in it.

Yeah, they are definitely older than Stray Kids. Jungkook, the youngest of BTS, is the same age as Bang Chan, the oldest and leader of SKZ, who is basically the Dad to 7 chaotic kids. There's a lot of fan discussion on how different they act b/c of their positions within their respective groups and what would happen if you had them switch for a day. Poor Jungkook would probably not have a good day if that ever happened, lol. Chan doesn't refer to the other members as "good little demons" for no reason. The documentary into the making of the BTS x Coldplay song might be a good one to check out, along with a guide to Stray Kids. And more songs from each, of course.

It was made recently by a girl who is introducing BTS to her co-workers (they reacted to it on their channel Orig Entertainment). The video is titled "draft" because she's still taking suggestions from comment section on how to improve her video. But the comments all agree her video is already the best one out there. A lot of BTS music actually sounds very old-school, like throwback to 90s. Could be bc the rappers are well-versed in old school hiphop. So the generation in their 30s/40s likes BTS music bc it is reminiscent of the music they grew up with or in their young years. Of course BTS music covers a lot of genres and sounds, so there's something for everyone. That's why the age demographic for the fandom is so wide. If you want a smooth, maxwell-esque, neo-soul song from BTS, react to Singularity (it's titled as "Comeback Trailer", but it's a music video). It's a solo song by V. RM wrote the song specifically for V to sing, and RM helped to produce it too. It's definitely a song that stands out amongst BTS discography, being the only neo-soul song. It's a pretty universally-liked song no matter what genre of music you prefer. If you want another song that was produced/written by one member for another member, check out their recently released song Stay Alive. Solo song by Jungkook, produced by Suga (who is also the primary composer and songwriter for it). It's a song for their webtoon. I think people need to get the idea that he is somehow the pinnacle of dancing out of their heads, Chris does not set the bar for dancing. When you compare him with the top professional dancers in the world, he is average. He just stands out amongst singers bc most singers do not dance. He's not a bad dancer by any means, he's very good. But in the professional dance level, EVERYONE is very good. You need to be REALLY good to stand out. Chris's skills in dancing is like, the bare minimum to qualify for professional level. J-Hope is an exceptional top tier dancer when you pit him against top professional dancers, he could win competing against them. He started formal dance training at like 10 years old, already won national awards for dancing at like 14. From then on, it was continuous practice and training devoted to dancing, like 8 hours a day, for years upon years. J-Hope is miles above Chris in dancing imo, in terms of technical skill and versatility. There would be no reason for J-Hope to look up to Chris for dancing, it should be the other way around. Though J-Hope does like CB songs and J-Hope appreciates dancing from anyone, so he likes CB dancing. Anyone who shows passion for dancing, J-Hope appreciates very much. Dancing is his first love.

Taehyung (V) has a deep sultry & soulful vocals. He loves R&B, but he also loves jazz. He plays the trumpet too which isn't mentioned here. He has a huge collection of classic jazz. V accompanied a friend to the audition with no intention of auditioning himself, but Bighit liked what they saw & picked him instead. V also came from a poor family of farmers. He's very unique & often throws the members off with the things that he says 😆. There's a clip where RM talks about what he thought of V when he 1st met him and how weird he thought he was (something like that) until he got to know him on a personal level. BTW, V is my bias from the vocal line & Suga is my bias from the rap line
