Introducing the new Baltic Aquascaphe GMT. This is a GMT version of the vintage-inspired dive watch, the Aquascape, by micro brand Baltic. I got hands-on with this new GMT watch for about a month and here is my review of the Baltic Aquascaphe GMT and my thoughts.

I have the green version. Your points are valid. When outdoors, you don't notice the dome distortion as much and you get a nice pop off the black dial.

In case it hasn’t been mentioned, thank you for always adding the lug to lug to the dimensions. I can’t believe how horological publications (Hodinkee, Fratello, Ablogtowatch) don’t mention this. It’s one of the most important stats for wearability!! 🙏🙏🍻🍻

Watch brands don't typically provide lug-to-lug for some reason. So I'm guesing the major publications don't include them simply becauase they weren't on the spec sheets provided by the watch brands.

I like this watch. It’s something different to the usual GMT watches out there. The video captures the domed sapphire crystal really well. I think it’s a quirky and unique feature to this watch and one that will characterize it.

What about Christopher Ward? Just got a new trident GMT 600. Great shape and finishing on this case, nice specs. For around a 1000 pounds, I think it should sit as a proper alternative.

I did buy this watch and it has become a favorite, but when most people do a watch reviews, they show the watches under artificial light. When seen in natural sunlight...this dial POPS!!! It’s simplicity, reliability and vintage reference is second to the eye popping Baltic blue, baby.🤠

Great review and love the watch. My only problem is I don’t love the beads of rice bracelet, but would want it on a bracelet. Do you think other bracelets would fit snug for a seamless look? Thanks!

I got a Aquascaphe on both tropical strap and rice metal bracelet. I recommend it very much, comfortable. I prefer the tropical strap because of comfort. I wish there was a skinny noname quick adjustable locking mechanism on the bracelet. The spring bar is 20mm long 1.8mm thick and the small metall studd is 1mm compared to 0.8mm that others use (the bracelet uses quick bar with 0.8mm). The springbar with 1mm studd feels very good.

You should review the Lorier Hyperion, a GMT with the same movement as this but less than 1k. It came out just a week earlier than Baltic if not at the same time.

I purchased both the Lorier GMT and the Baltic GMT. They are both very different watches yet seem to be so similar. I like the bracelet and the clasp on the Baltic more and the fact that it has a more durable crystal. I like the design and overall aesthetics of the Lorier more on the other hand and very much like the team behind the Lorier, great people to deal with, great customer service. If I had to pick between the two I'd go with the Lorier myself all things considered but not by a huge margin.

I bought the Baltic Aquascaphe non GMT about 2-3 months ago. I absolutely love it. Yeah ok it’s not this model but it’s a helluva watch all the same 😎👍🏻 Enjoy the snow up in the northern hemisphere Adrian. Here in Australia it was 36C or about 96.8F today. 38C tomorrow! 🤪☀️😅

I have to admit Adrian I really like this watch ..it’s simple and clean and for the price is very robust looking .the dome crystal doesn’t look bad on the video but is probably more pronounced on the wrist .soprod movements are reliable and workman like perhaps not hi end like eta or selitta as the likes of tag heure use them but it won’t let u down .

Quick question from a fan about to pull the trigger, who would you recommend for insurance on a collectible watch and what sort of cover. Walking around with 4K or upwards on the wrist could be dangerous.

The non-jumping GMT hand is better if you go to a place with a non-integer tome zone. For exemple india is UTC+5:30.

1) Well, it’s a French brand so I’m a bit biased here, but I think this Baltic is the kind of watch that can have you store the Batman in the bank safe and never wear it again (whatever your reason was to buy the Batman in the first place) 2) this « and now you’re expecting me to plug my on-line strap shop » moment was perfect. 3) I don’t know what coffee brand you’re drinking these days, but it works. Sounds like you’re trying to beat the fastest English speaking person world record. Slow down mate, this ain’t a race.

Totally agree re a flat Sapphire. Always preferred on a 39mm watch when the bezel is already shrinking the dial. Any chance of a review/thoughts on Seiko SPB153/SPb151 Willard, talking of Seiko bang for buck at £1k? I’m tempted 🤔 Great video as always. HNY Adrian! 🥂
