I was lucky enough to be at this show. Dec. 7, 2007 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The whole show was amazing. And it was when he was arguably at the top of his career. What night. I'm so glad (no pun intended) it was recorded.

Wow lucky you, I would have given a lot to go back in time to be there! I've listened to that album so so many times. I can't hear a signle not gone wrong. Is that true? Are they that good or do they do som after processing?
@joeyschwartz51504 ай бұрын
@DaveRevst4548 No, he and all the other players were that great that night. Playing with great players pushes everyone on stage to play at 130%. If you are good enough to be on that stage, the output can not be anything less than phenomenal.

I stayed going down the Mayer rabbit hole about a year ago. Somewhere along the line I heard the date of this concert and my head exploded! Dec 7th 2007 is my birthday. I was actually being born during the concert that ended up changing my life in music.

I’ve never seen a better live concert than Where The Light Is. John Mayer was as close to perfect as you get that night

The whole concert was perfect for me. I’m so glad it was filmed professionally

Without a doubt my favorite live solo ever he’s absolute at his best right there. The whole show honestly. That trio is a masterpiece, Jordan and pino are an insane rhythm section

There is a criminally low amount of John Mayer reactions out there. The only one that gets around is the Ain't No Sunshine video, which is one of the worst versions John has ever done lol.

I don’t think Bass players get enough credit. I’ve always been impressed with Bass players who can walk the neck during a song and add so many great fills that bond the lead and drums. Pino does such an awesome job! 🎸🎵🎶

@@samwestguitar No doubt. I'd like your take on one thing. I've listened to that album countless times; it sort of lives with me. But I cant find even one misstake in the playing or singing. No missed note or anything. Is this true, you think? Are they that good or have they done some post edits?
@samwestguitar5 ай бұрын
@@DaveRevst4548 hmm, to be honest I’m not 100% sure. The vocals will have had all the post production of a studio record I would have thought, auto tune and all the rest of it, specially in the falsetto section. In terms of guitar playing I don’t know! You’re right tho, it’s to perfect. maybe a few bits and bobs were overdubbed. Ive seen him live 3 times now and he’s almost flawless, although he did hit a few botched notes in a few of the songs! One thing that’s always confused me is in the title track “TRY!” from his trio live album in the intro you can hear a second guitar playing a very random pentatonic line. Really strange haha!

And there are still some hater’s around, saying that he can’t play.

You can immediately dismiss anything someone says after making such a statement. Even if you are not a fan, you can't brush this guy's talent off so easily.

Bonamassa is a great guitarist, but I’ve found he blurs the lines while playing. Starts of blues and then out of nowhere, he jumps over to something more like heavy metal.
@mintoxace55713 ай бұрын
The guitar is great, but the drummer is messing up the flow of the rhythm of the tune with extra snare hits that don’t need to be there in the verse.
