I think you’ve been the most positive person about this camera. Everybody else has talked about it being a year or two too late, especially with it’s feature set. A lot of people have also pointed out how it really isn’t that compact and that much smaller than the a7iii. Seems like an interesting path to go down for the company, especially if they’re guiding it toward the vlogging market, and how much Sony has been directing its cameras to video creators more than stills shooters this year.

Why would not you consider buying this one ( a7c ) ?
@ruthlesskid244 жыл бұрын
@@alirakhaMusic I am in the same boat as Mimi frank, Sony is known to fill niches. The A7C is one year too late, would've paid USD1800 @2019 Christmas. Literally, oneone I know is buying new bodies just to get marginal upgrades over something that is already comparable and cheaper *cough A7III. This camera does get some people excited, however those same people(me) will not spend money, in the current climate.
@professionalpotato47643 жыл бұрын
It might take a while. There's no merit for Sony to release the A7iv right now. Covid, postponing of olympics, and most importantly. Nothing else competes with Sony in where it's positioned now. A hybrid shooting camera that's reliable. The jack of all trades, master of none group. The R6 overheats, the Z6ii is close but nowhere near threatening, S5 is packed featurewise, but requires experience manual focus users. If Sony behaves like they did for the A7Siii, they will wait for Canon or Nikon to drop the next flagship (that doesn't suck) before coming out with a counter.

Advice: Motivation is not the answer Vong. If you want the motivation before you start, you will never start! Motivation only comes when you starts to gain the benefits on what you are doing, maybe getting money, passing an exam etc etc. Instead, try to sort your priorities one by one and do it by chunk (maybe right it in a piece of paper). Hope you get back to your standard routine and I hope you are no longer burnout! Greetings from Malaysia

I'm still rocking an A6000, my first and only camera, and this is very tempting. As a solo creator, that flip-out screen is really valuable for what I do and I've always loved the photos/videos from the A7iii. I was really hoping for more custom buttons and a joystick though. The biggest pain point for me will be having to start a brand new lens collection. Glad you got to spend some time playing with this! Thanks for sharing. Cheers

Re: 8:00, I probably have less info than you do about Sony's internal structure, but I think you're right up to a point. I wouldn't be surprised if the same teams (or shared members) worked on both cameras... I also think that they were completed around the same time (or maybe the a7c was completed first), but they probably decided to release the a7s3 at the time they did because they wanted to try to slow down or squash any potential momentum they were speculating the Canon r5 might've gotten. I'm guessing the a7c reached an economic point-of-no-return to put it back in the workshop and improve it. Like if mass production was already well on its way or contracts were too expensive to alter to upgrade the a7c before it was released. Anyway, glad to see you back! I hope you're able to improve on your work/life balance. I myself am also on a work break and I'm on my fifth month myself.

Jason, I have been watching your videos for a few years, and I enjoy what you do, and I hope that in this tricky covid time, you can find whatever sort of emotional stability and personal social habits you need. I think you can do it because you are a person that is able to focus yourself when required. I also think that like me, you are self-aware enough that if you are hyper-focusing and making yourself anxious, you can think your way out of that even when it isn't automatic or easy. You have the wisdom to see the big picture. About the 7c, I dreamed of a full frame range finder styled form factor for ten years, and Leica gave us that with the M8 before that, but it was too expensive. At this point, with a collection of Sony E aps-c lenses, I am less tempted to buy Sony's finally smaller full frame camera. Over the years, I have learned why the digital sensors need more rectilinear light paths that make the lenses larger, but for an aps-c sensor, the size for a super quality lens with the now available aspheric and ed lens elements will always be smaller. The point is that Sony can try to satisfy all of us that have dreamed to have a full frame camera in a small form factor, but not by charging $1800 (which will come down), but more the problem is that the super quality lenses are too expensive. Sony is not going to make a great portrait lens for full frame that is anywhere near the size and quality of the Sigma 56 1.4, which is essentially tiny and perfect! My point is that aps-c sony is equal to Sony full frame as long as Signma is making lenses that are fully compatible.

I'm considering getting this camera in November. Currently only using my Samsung S10+ phone. The cost is the biggest obstacle for most people. Sony NZ will sell the a7c kit version for NZ$4,299. The a6600 kit version is NZ$2,998. But the a7c has advantages. (1) 4K 30fps Full Frame No Crop video (2) USB C (3) Flip OUT screen (4) Improved auto focus (5) digital mic hot shoe (6) IBIS not the best but better than nothing (7) Z Battery (8) Can record with no break for a solid 2 hours. Used to own a Sony FDR-AX700 but stability was crap with 4k video recording. Owned a Sony CX-405 but sold that couple of years ago too. Will see if I can take out a loan to cover the cost of this, from my bank ANZ.

Hi Jason great to see you back, like this channel because it is you 😄 you have a good positive outlook on cameras and life, so many reviewers are so picky, we don’t need everyone to be negative. Different camera features for different people. I don’t shoot video so no interest in those specs on this new camera, my husband finds the Nikon D500 too big to lug round, he prefers my A9 but also likes the A6400 so this could be a very good option for him. He’s not a pro so one card slot is fine, we have back up bodies so will take two cameras on a day out. He’ll be pleased about the new flaps over the sides and not having to put the card in next to the battery on the bottom is an improvement. Am used to the Sony menus so no problem about that. Front wheel would have been nice, but can you customise the big wheel on the back and the delete key? As some one probably old enough to be your mother I’d advise to stay chilled about work, don’t push your self too much. Use this down time to get exercise ( when the air is better!) eat well, learn a new skill... next year there will be lots of weddings maybe not on a big scale but everyone will want photos 😀

I think if you own a a73, keep it and move on with your life, and buy the a7s3 as soon as you can. If you are going for the a7s3 as your first then the a7C is a nice B cam, especially since its lighter and smaller, so you can keep it in the bag without issues.
