Cort basses are great, but they should stop shoveling those MK-1 split coils in every affordable model. Would be nice to see basses like this with single coils at least.

Thanks for the review! My first 5 string bass was a Cort. They make great cheap instruments. I recently bought a much cheaper one, the Action 5 HH, it's quite good, especially for just $350 I paid for it. The only issue I couldn't fix for free is shitty tuners. So guys, if you're just starting out or just want to get a new bass without breaking the bank, Cort is the way to go. And I also want to say that you, Nate, is one of the very few bass players on KZbin who not only doesn't hesitate to show their real playing, but actually got great timing. This is simultaneously the most crucial and the most overlooked skill on any instrument, not just the bass. Thanks for being a real musician.

Can we get a detailed comparison btw. Ibanez ehb and this bass?
Interesting info from the "Bass the world" channel: They have measured the scale length and confirmed that it's a 35'' scale. @Nate Navarro: Can you please check this as well and (hopefully) confirm this? 😉

I will now go buy this bass for sure!

The Bartolinis are game-breaker. They sound pretty dark and Cort pretty much puts them everywhere - C-, B- and A- series now have it as standard and only the A ultra ash features something else (fishman fluence pickups).. Other than that, seems like a good bass. Shame there isn't a 4-string version.

Took that baby out for a gig last weekend just 2 days after receiving it. 5h Partycover gig for 1000+ people. I did not change strings or setup. I must say I was not entirely sure and had my Sandberg as a spare, but this was a no brainer. Played it the whole night. It did fit well into the party music genres of Rock/Pop/Soul stuff. No problems with the setup, although it was a gig in a party tent, changing temperatures and humidity outside due to a thunderstorm mid gig. No problemo! I am amazed by the craftsmanship this instrument is offering for such a competitive price. Well done, @cortguitars!

cort artisan bass are always a good base for mod. my favorite bass is my artisan 6. with delano sonar preamp ( from what i know, this preamp is really close to the bartolini one that is in MTD bass but for half the price in Europe) and MK6CBC pickup ( in serie for that ken smith sound, parallel is still too bright like the MK1 pickup but can come in handy when you play through a muddy amp/cab). honestly the only problem with the original artisan bass is the bridge that a real pain in the butt and depending on the setup, the intonation will be impossible to setup on certain string. honestly if they were to made a Artisan bass with an hipshot A bridge and bartolini USA electronic, even for 1600-1800 bucks, it will still be one of the best bass in that price.

@@tomd341 While that is usually true. I've played basses with 34'' scale, which have just as good B-string as some 35'' scale basses have. I think often it's more about the build quality and construction than the scale lenght.

Don't know about their other stuff but this just appeared on Thomann for 725€. That's the second cheapest headless bass (after that Steinberger shovel-looking thing). Ibanez EHB (non-multiscale) start at 1K, so about 33% more expensive than this.
