@trucking shenanigans Shakers are the most popular because fleets buy them cheap and dispose of them when they start falling apart. How many Columbias and Centuries are still on the road compared to T600s, and 386s? Not too many, and the ones that are still out there are held together with chicken wire, duct tape, hopes and dreams. Freightliner’s last great truck was the FLD.

Beautiful truck. Several nice improvements. Can't wait to drive one. But 2 things it needs. A sun visor and get rid of the metal frames around the sleeper windows. I know the visor doesn't help the aerodynamics but it definitely helps the driver.

it has visors inside it doesn't really need the outside one. i was inside one today. i like everything on that truck as now, but i have to drive one to see how it perform. but 1650 on toque and 5oo + hp we don't need more than that in usa.

I’m happy to see the long turn signals on the back of the fenders. The T680 really needs more than the small light on the top of the wheel arch, which is nearly impossible to see during the day. I also hope the hinged cab extender is standard.

I can't wait to breakdown on the side of the road in this truck. If you're reading this, buy the Cummins motor. Having had three Paccar MX13 trucks, that engine is a joke. Like the new styling, but it still isn't as aerodynamic as a Cascadia.

Cummins engines are excellent for trucks like these. As for aero, that was only tested with the front of the truck, not the sides. Kenworth tests both, so on paper it is more aerodynamic, but hopefully proper testing can be done between the major truck brands.

I hope this Next Gen T-680 has better wipers/washers, defroster, nav system than my 2018 model. Also, why dim the Information Center when the lights are on? It is nearly impossible to read with the lights on in daytime. It should either not dim at all, or have a sensor to dim according to ambient light.

I hate the T680 generally but the new one looks really good in my opinion. A big improvement on the older model. The narrower hood and grille really did wonders for this truck's appearance. The only thing missing now is an Aerodyne sleeper and it would be one nice Kenworth. I've been a long time Kenworth fan but ever since the T680 things weren't looking good and the W990 was just awful. This new T680 looks good though, gives me hope for a better future for Kenworth.

it is normal that people have tastes about trucks, what is more, I also like classic trucks like the w 900 or the t 6oo, but I understand that the world changes and the transport industry also changes and they decide to create totally different models . the next generation t 680 model is different and completely streamlined showing that the industry must build a new generation of trucks.

In My Honest Opinion. And I hope Kenworth Trucking Co. will Reply to my Comment. I have driven one of these with the Digital Display. 1st Negative. The Night time glare is Ridiculous even on the lowest setting! 2nd Negative. Besides on all the other comments. When the dash goes dark what Saftey features are In place to prevent this? How is this more cost effective than other gauge systems? Verses replacing a sensor on an older cluster. There are so many what if’s on this display. I was thinking about Buying a W990. But I just wish Kenworth would make it a either or split. Digital and or Standard Gauges. To where a person could choose. I won’t be buying one. I’ll take my 175,000 and go find an old truck and fix myself. I love Kenworth. But these mistakes being made are so sad to see

@@alialibeyoglu7532 I own 2018 Peterbilt 579 and my cousin has 2019 389 both have x15 performance 565 horsepower his ratio is 3:55 and mine is 3:73 classic Canadian we get same fuel mileage no difference. It how your trucks spec is . Right spec doesn't matter long nose or eagle nose it will be same mileage. Sales person don't tell you that. And I was talking about parts and availability between older and new model. For example my truck rad is 2900 Canadian dollars compare to my cousins 700 Canadian dollars. There is availability for his rad right away and I had to sit 3 days to get that rad so you tell me how I am going to save money DID YOU GET THAT PART?

Oh my god, this has been bothering me ever since I started this lease to own program! As a company driver, I had a 2016 volvo, and EVERYTHING about that truck was infinitely better than my current 2019 Kenworth t680. It had way more power, shifted way faster, accelerated way faster, exhaust brake was stronger and more smooth. The exhaust brake in my T680 just straight up throws you around the cab. I thought my truck being dangerously slow was from the fact that my company specs these trucks for like maxed out fuel economy, 2.55 rear ends (which I didn't even know going that high was an option). But i've been hearing that people with my lower gear ratios like 3.70s, and 4.11s and what not, still have STUPID slow acceleration. At stop lights when I'm empty, I'm still getting constantly smoked by XPO Logistic's beat up, poorly maintained single axle, 2010 freightliner cascadias and columbias. It's actually extremely frustrating

Actually you might want to take a picture of the new t680 and the old one and put them next to each other and you will see the aero improvements on the new one compared to the first version. The hood is 8 inches narrower on the new one compared to the old one.

Had a T-700 and 680, not a great experience and their network wasn't that good. Freightliner Cascadia has an excellent D-12 auto. Paccar never made a good automatic transmission. And I can drive 13-18 speed.

@@ostrich2956 nothing wrong with electric if they are done correctly. Unfortunately no one has a clue or the technology to do it yet. I would love to have a hydrogen electric truck not a battery electric they are useless in my opinion. They don't have any range and it gets worse the colder it gets. Until someone comes up with a hydrogen electric powered truck that has the same range as a normal diesel powered truck they are useless in the real world of trucking. Nikola has the right idea but I don't think that they are going to be able to go through with it without help from an establish manufacturers like paccar.

When are you guys going to remodel the interior and get a real exterior remodel???* The worst truck I’ve ever driven, it’s as if the designer never drove a truck. Dash too high, can’t see worth a crap, air horn not by the door, dash too far away, cup holders blocking outlet, steering wheel too bulky, light controls wrong position… I could keep going but the list would be too long. Volvo and Freightliner are winning by miles in the modern design and driver focused trucks.
