Honestly if someone can't use that step they probably shouldn't be driving. It's not much different than the steps getting into the cab.

Curious why truck manufacturers are not adding small shower/toilet options for these bigger sleepers. Copycat Freightliners in China/Asia are being built with shower/toilet as well as some other companies. It doesn’t seem like manufacturers have bothered to make any REAL advancements in sleeper layout/design in decades. Everything is exactly where it’s been in the sleepers for years. It’s time for shower/toilet options to be configured into standard 70”-80” sleepers. There is clearly the room. If China can figure it out so can we. As for the additional weight, yeah bullshit. Driver comfort/retention/personal safety all outweigh the additional weight (350-500 lbs). Sleepers are huge, tall and integrated into the cab/chassis, this should be a no brainer. Great walk around!! Thanks👍🏻👍🏻

My thoughts too ... same ol sleeper design from 10 -15 yrs ago. We need shower and toilet in the trucks 😅
@williamperkey49528 ай бұрын
Thought they would of moved on that some time back. Seemed to b the next logical step of improvement 🤔. Then agin, their looking down the way they'll probably have the self drive & push the drivers out of the profits 📈 😒
@NotFunnyMe237 ай бұрын
those would take up so much room, add a lot of weight. even then it would have less supplies in the truck. if you dont want supplies to be the issue, the only other option is to make the sleeper bigger and add weight again.
@greglawson38057 ай бұрын
@@NotFunnyMe23 disagree wholeheartedly, sleeper layouts haven’t changed in years. The Murphy bed/dinette in the new Volvo is the first real innovation in decades. Even the “studio” sleeper in the KW is just a couch and that turns into a bed. SO MUCH wasted space and lost opportunities for sleeper innovations. And no, mega carriers are not going to pay for any additional amenities or added weight to a road truck, but I believe that O/O and small fleets would if those options were available. And as for the weight, it’s seriously negligible on a truck that is operated by a team or single driver that stays out extended weeks at a time. The option to have your own shower/toilet in the truck is a game changer, and if it wasn’t, companies like ARI wouldn’t exist. There is plenty of room available, it’s just being wasted due to a lack innovation. It’s time to rethink/redesign the standard 72”-80” sleeper.

Kenworth builds a damn fine truck to make money with . I was fortunate enough to get to drive a nearly new T2000 and I was never able to find something to complain about but there is one thing I can't do is the auto transmission, the Eaton super ten worked well . But I'm old school.

I can't agree more. I'm in the 2023 T680 paccar . 90,000 miles. Dash Black's out . While driving, the speedometer goes from 60 to 0 in the blink of an eye. And the truck starts to lose power. The second time it just choked out and shutdown notification transmission issue requires service. In a months time, I was in the shop in Tennessee 3days , Indianapolis 7days , and Bowlingreen Kentucky 8 days In that week time span I was towed twice. And now after about 3 weeks I'm going back in the shop. This truck is a whole hot mess. And the mechanics can't do anything until an IT specialist who works remotely emails the potential problems that only he can understand from the readout of the numerous computers on the truck. With luck they might fix it. But it took 3 shops 3 states to finally roll for 3 straight weeks. Faulty wiring isn't uncommon. Software and paccar not compatible. Transmission software suspect. The amount of plastic parts on this truck that just fall off is unbelievable. And this truck is barely 10 months old. 😂 And now another computer issue.
