Pretty much what I made but used PVC as you did w/ the Bowline for handles & chamfered & sanded the edges as well as wrapped with hockey tape. I also included a prusik loop for and adjustable foot loop using some paranoid or even better some 5mm climbing rope. Great info here & what I recommend if you want to give suspension training a shot or don't feel like dropping $125-200 on a TRX!
@IntoTheOutside000
@IntoTheOutside000 Жыл бұрын
I underestimated how much more unstable these are than rings for pressing movements since you have no support against your arms/shoulders from the rings and straps. Not only do they easily rotate but slide parallel to the strap demanding intense rigidity of the wrist and grip that the rings do not relatively speaking. This can make it flat out dangerous for beginners as if the rings were not already. But after using rings for over ten years I can say I'm loving the challenge. I'm using 2inch thick aluminum handles for gorilla grip on the pulling movements making the grip the limiting factor on purpose for fore arm and grip strength gains.

I have a pair of junglegym xt's (my favorite trx style straps) and Olympic rings with straps. Of both of these neither one is as easy to set up or compact as this! My Olympic rings have TONS of slack length that hangs about, but can be hooked over trees etc, while the junglegyms are neater, but you need to access what your hanging them from directly. GRIND STRAPS ARE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS, not even considering the locking foot loop engineering. This is genius Matt please reach out to investors or give me the okay to reach out for you. Love the simplicity. Have not bought my TRX or Monkii Bar 2 as of yet although $200 for the MB 2 is a bit much. My question on the DIY straps...I would believe the incorporated (colored) lines on the straps you see on TRX or some others is a valuable indicator when making adjustments. I could see myself spending more time attempting to adjust the level than working out. Although the ease of adjustment clip on the Monkii B 2 seemed very smooth. Thoughts to anyone out there that has purchased a cheaper set and regretted it?
@RedDeltaProject
@RedDeltaProject 5 жыл бұрын
You're right a graduated strap is certainly the way to go which is why I've ordered a prototype set with just such markings so keep an eye out for such a design in the near future.
@mikebarone2

RedDeltaProject...Thanks Matt! I appreciate the feedback. I’ll hold off buying anything for now. Another question/comment...I see that TRX and a few others have a single point of contact at the attachment to the top vs. the ones I see you use that can be spread out to the left and to the right. I assume that’s a critical feature. Thanks again....keep up the great work. 53 and it feels good to give up the travel to the gym and get back to old school finger tip push ups, pull ups, etc...like the old wrestling days. I’m pissed I had already purchased a bench for free weights that I probably won’t buy now that I found your channel. I would have purchased your contraption. 🇺🇸💪🏻
