About S.E.E.D.
To ensure that learners become aware, sensitive, and responsive to the needs of their environment, we offer a 5-day centre-based EE programme designed to fit into the National School Curriculum. The EE Centre itself is built in an environmentally friendly
way and, through these facilities and our carefully crafted programme, we will provide a sustainable living experience for our participants. This programme will fill the gap in EE in western Namibia’s rural schools and provide a great opportunity for learners to gain environmental awareness by presenting them with learning opportunities they wouldn’t have otherwise had. In addition to this, the programme offered will promote quality education (SDG4) which acts as a key enabler to all other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDGs are a global call for action, to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. We will also further encourage and support the initiation of eco-clubs in rural schools in Kunene and Erongo regions.
We aim to nurture the next generation of conservation champions that are empowered and equipped to take charge of local conservation efforts, to positively influence the environment and enable rural development through environmentally friendly practices.
• The project will result in improved knowledge, values, and a positive change
in the attitudes of participants towards our natural environment.
• EE materials and resources will be reviewed and used to inform decisions to improve the effectiveness of the EE programme, including adjustments to
lessons and activities as necessary.
• Establish a sustainable funding strategy that will enable our targeted rural
schools to attend the programme for free.
• Collaborations between EHRA and other EE/ESD providers for the benefit of environmental conservation in Namibia.
