I have bought accessories from teleskop in the past and have been very happy with customer service. I was amazed at the short lead time for shipping to Arizona, USA. My 10" will be delivered in less than three weeks. Unfortunately the 12" is too heavy to ship but that is just as well since I wanted the 10" anyway. Your videos are detailed and accurate and very enjoyable to watch. I appreciate your style that speaks of the technical details and NOT that of a salesman. It is like listening to an engineer and not a sales person that does not understand problems. Thank you for your manner. You are an excellent representative. I am retired from Steward Observatory and have worked on LBT, GMT, LSST, and many others so I watch closely all details and know of what I speak.

Moved the dew-heater band from the front of the tube (stupid) and put it on the bottom plus a black cloth to block potential light-leaks. Off course I use a dew shield and also added a dew heater strip onto the secondary mirror. Since I started using the fan on the bottom continuously with both dew-heaters running white haze on the pictures seems to decrease, which was "bad" especially on humid nights with the moon up. I really like the focuser, it is very sturdy and solid..

I love this model of telescope, it is the one I acquired a year ago, it is always useful to review these details about the optical tube and I agree in your appreciation, it is an excellent option if you want to take astronomical photography and observe with it. I use it with a modified Canon 6d camera and despite not having the coma corrector yet, the photographic tests are to get excited ... Many thanks for your work. Greetings from Spain

Magnificent video! of this Photon Newton 8" f/4, (very good GSO optics, and focuser...) one question..., I have a TS-Optics AZ5 mount, skytee-2 type, would there be a possibility... to mount an 8" Photon f/5, weight 9.10kg, for visual..., I know that the dobson is adequate, and a skytee-2?? It would be interesting... Greetings. Angel

Is it possible to keep the initial budget low to add this ts photon to a Dobson stand/rockerbox? Which one?

Fortunately the primary mirror is *not* spherical, but paraboloids also show coma in a Newtonian.
@teleskopservice
@teleskopservice 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, sure the primary is parabolic. Only very small newtonians can (but not should) have a spherical mirror.

The camera and focuser should be at the 5 o'clock position....ideally the area between the guide=scope/guide camera and the main imaging camera.

Will you do a review of the wonderful ONTC or UNC and what’s the real difference between them thinking of getting 8 inch ONTC f4. Also what’s the difference between f4 and f5 for collimation do they hold collimation well.
@teleskopservice
@teleskopservice 3 жыл бұрын
For the next time, we want to focus a bit more on "entry" level, but of course, the ONTCs are worth a in depth review. Lets put it on the list!

I just got my 8 inch StelleLyra. Looks exactly the same as yours. Put it on my HEQ5 mount. Had to use both counterweights and an extra 2,5 kilogram weight. The mount works, but merely. I wonder if I will damage the HEQ5 if I use an extra weight with all this gear setup ?????

Added a Losemandy bar on the bottom (moved the other bar on top), for added stability and to carry my ASIair plus,. Added an electronic focuser, and changed from off-axis guiding to a 60mm guidescope. Decided to put it on my ne EQ6-R pro which carries it with ease. So almost all problems solved. But have not been able to use my Askar off-axis guider as expected so I use my 60mm guidescope until I will be able to choose an appropriate guide-camera. My 120MM mini seems to be to small ???

I read that there are "issues" with the mirror springs on the primary. Has this been fixed. Someone had to resort to blue tack so they didn't shift the mirror when slewing the scope.
@projectnemesi5950
@projectnemesi5950 Жыл бұрын
You could install firmer springs and better screws to remedy this. To be honest, I would expect to do some mods to this scope over time.

Is there a thread available on the focuser to screw corrector ? A screwed connection is more secure than low quality clamping ring.
@teleskopservice
@teleskopservice 17 күн бұрын
Unfortunately no thread. This standard focuser unfortunately only has a 2 inch clamping ring device. However, there are 2 possibilities to install a different focuser. Without changing the base, with the help of an adapter. www.teleskop-express.de/de/teleskop-zubehoer-5/auszuege-teleskopadapter-motorfokus-296/okularauszuege-mikrountersetzung-92/ts-optics-2-zoll-zahntriebauszug-mit-zusatzgewinde-fuer-zubehoer-bis-5-kg-15797 www.teleskop-express.de/de/teleskop-zubehoer-5/auszuege-teleskopadapter-motorfokus-296/auszug-teleskopbefestigung-297/ts-optics-adapter-auf-ringschwalbe-von-gso-ts-photon-fuer-den-rap2del-okularauszug-15803 Or with modification of the base, this focuser can also be used. (These focusers have a thread): www.teleskop-express.de/de/teleskop-zubehoer-5/auszuege-teleskopadapter-motorfokus-296/okularauszuege-mikrountersetzung-92/ts-optics-2-zoll-unc-gen-2-newtonauszug-mit-zusatzgewinde-bis-5-kg-belastbar-14361

Just wondering...what mount will suit this setup? will an EQ6R-Pro handle it?
@derekbaker3279
@derekbaker3279 3 жыл бұрын
If you don't mind, I will answer while you wait for him to reply. In the video, he said that he plans to use an HEQ-5, however (IMHO) if you are attempting to image on nights when the wind is not very calm, and/or you hope to take long exposures (600s or more), then the EQ6 will be an excellent choice. Of course, you will have to consider the greater weight of the EQ-6 & if that mount will be too heavy to set up & take apart every clear night, etc.
@teleskopservice
@teleskopservice 3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the long delay, @derek is absolutly right. I got it working with the AZ-EQ5, but if you want to be on the safe side (wind) then i would also recommend a EQ-6 class mount.

Hey i got the same newton. I use a zwo asi 533 with a offaxis guider and a gpu from ts optics, but i cant get into focus with it? What is the problem?
@teleskopservice
@teleskopservice 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, can you describe your image train a bit more? What off axis guider is it? As long as you achive 52-55mm distance from corrector to sensor, it should work like a charm. Maybe you have to pull out the corrector a bit of the focuser. Please drop a mail to info@teleskop-service.de, there you will be forwarded to the tech dept.
