I like using “self-propelled” mode on my moving heads rather than Sound mode. You control the effect while your lights still respond to the music. I’m new to DMX and I don’t know if Self-propelled mode is common in most moving heads but my UKing lights have it and I love it.

At first I was sceptical about buying this product, then I watched your tutorials. Thank you so much for the great work! I sold my dmx 512 controller because this program is a lot easier to execute pre-programed and live lighting shows! I also don't have to run a dmx cable from my box, because I bought a wireless dmx transmitter that plugs right into the the box and 12 receivers. Now my light show is amazing and not limited to my truss! I am a music producer and often I set up live shows for my artists and every bar, stage and area is different, but with this program, I can set a fantastic light show up in 45 mins with ease! Thanks again for the detailed information! (I use about 32 lights depending on the venue)

A week ago I buy The ADJ Mydmx 0.3. And it is very difficult to program my lights. I need a good tutorial like the one that does Joe , JLDJUK . This person explains very clearly ADJ please hire Joe to make a totorial. It is the one that best explains the programming processes. So far there is a good totorial from the beginning to the end that educates how to work with this sofward

Wow! Super super helpful tutorials. When I started with your tutorials I had just purchase the My Buddy and new nothing of DMX programming. Now all my DMX capable lights are running of MyDMX2.0 and looking awesome! Thank you so much! One question I have is this - I know its possible to set up short cut keys on the keyboard, is it possible to create a "bump" key that could be used to say run par cans or some other fixture that you just want to bump on and off? And to be able to do it while another scene is already running?

Joe. Thanks for your videos. Could you give me an advice. Which of the solution is more suitable for live: mydmx, mydmx with adj midicon controller or simply dmx controller? Is it easy to do a live show with mydmx and PC?

hi I don't have my dmx 2.0 yet but planning on getting it. if i was to download the software and make a lighting show without the box would it still work? as in i make a lighting show with my adj tri-pars and then plug it in would it work? thanks josh

These are brilliant tutorials. I think I have found the right software for me!!!! Some applications a physical board is great (like theatre shows and basic rock'n'roll gigs with par cans etc, but for a decent DJ event, electronic music or large format rock show, I need more controll, more options and more simplicity than the physical boards can offer. Give a GrandMA and im lost as hell. Great desk, but time consuming to learn how to use and expensive.

My venue has a four pin connector. Is that dmx? Or something else.

+Justice Nugent something else 4 pin is commonly be used for intercom systems however if the original set up was done by someone inexperienced it may well be for lights. in both 3 and 5 pin only the first 3 poles are used. this could be the case with your 4 pin although unlikely. without following the cable back to it source it is very hard to say with it is.

Hi Joe, My name is Steven and I'm a 22 year old DJ from the US. I've done a lot of research in DMX, but I would appreciate your perspective on the subject because I'm finally looking to use it at future gigs. I have a simple light set up (ADJ: 2 Mega Go Pars, 1 Tri Par Profile, and 2 Inno Pocket Spots) so I think MyDMX Buddy is better and more in my budget range than MyDMX 2.0. I am a creative control freak who loves being able to adjust every aspect of my light shows so my questions are: Do you think I will be too disappointed in the limitations of MyDMX Buddy? I currently do not own a midi controller for my lights. Would you suggest I get one immediately or is working from the MyDMX software tolerable at a gig? I've heard that MyDMX Buddy owners can purchase a "Midi add-on" so I could do that at a later point with a simple midi controller like the one you had in your MyDMX Tutorial video. I've watched your videos for about a year now and I am grateful you share your knowledge for the world to see. As I said, I am a DMX beginner so any advice you have to make the learning process more enjoyable for me would be much appreciated. is DMX always supposed to be with a dmx cable? I have a dmx rgb led controller without this input port. It does have 2 ports for utp/ip/tcp/ethernet cables (whatever you call it). Do you know if you can output from your computer via ethernet to this dmx controller ?
