This engineering statics tutorial introduces the concept of centroids. A centroid is the centre of area of a geometric shape. Centroid calculations will be very important in calculating the resultant of distributed loads (basically the equivalent point load of a distributed load that would cause the same moment about a point). Centroids are also used to calculate the centre of mass of objects.

Your style is very interesting. The pace of your speech and diagrammatical explanation gives the initial impression that you're going too fast but I took all of this in. Thank you, Sir, for a professional video.

Sir in the right tringle. In the opposite of the angle. Isn't 1/3 (h) and 2/3 (h) instead of 1/3 (b) and 2/3 (b)?

at 1:03 ish shouldn't the vertical position of the triangle's centroid be 1/3 * h, and 2/3 * h. instead of times b?
