This video reminded me how much I've taken Pokemon's complexity for granted. I've been playing since Red and Blue and so many of these features have been added gradually with each generation that it never felt overwhelming, but I can't imagine coming into this as a new player now

I started playing in 2013 and everything since mega evolutions is greek to me. As far as my brain can tell all the different kinds of maxes are just slightly different mega evos and mythicals and primals and whatnot are all slightly different legendaries. All the kids coming into pokemon nowadays and keeping all this stuff in their head are so smart and I'm so proud of them

I play the core games as well as Pokemon Go, but something that's always scared me is the competitive play. This'll be fun and interesting to watch! I want to get into VGC now that stuff such as Lando-T and Tapu Koko are gone, plus it just seems like it's hella fun Also, love the Persona 3 test theme in the background

Does anyone else think Dracovish is really... phallic looking? Like seriously, I haven't wanted to name something "Dickhead" since my rival in pokemon red, but... the name does fit.

I think in the status part one very important thing is that some Pokémon of certain types cannot be affected by some status effects normally/usually: Electric - Paralysis Poison/steel - Poison (unless w/ corrosion ability) Fire - Burned Ice - Frozen

Just wanted to pop in and say that I think this was super well-done. Even though I've been playing singles on Showdown for a couple of years and don't plan on playing VGC, I found some yummy nuggets of information in here. Keep up the good work, and thanks for all you do for the Pokemon community!

Some constructive criticism: Try to focus on the core aspect of what is taught, and try to avoid exceptions. For beginners, it may be hard to comprehend exceptions, and it would be better to learn the core concept of an idea, such as speed, first. If this truly is an ongoing class, it would be beneficial to teach exceptions later on, or only feed a spoonful of information whilst teaching a new subject.

@@chargestone96 It's absolutely not important in intro classes. They don't teach children to count to -10 at the same time they learn to count to ten and they don't typically acknowledge negative numbers for a while. In a crash course it's fine but I don't think that's the goal here.

Excuse me professor Wolfey. You mentioned that you get circuit points for playing VGC. How many points do you get for each tournament win and do you only get points if you win or can you get points with a high enough points, as well as how much points for non 1st place top placings?
