It feels as though I learned more from these 6 minutes than almost all the hours of other videos I've seen. Gratitude!

I never knew about hot spots, however armed with this knowledge it will make for more interesting flourishes. It will also make me think a tad bit more about the movement before just scribbling some lines down. Being that youtube and various calligraphy books are my only teachers I found this very informative. I wish you taught classes down here in Jax, Florida

Thanks for this. Been looking for tips to make your own flourishing technique rather than following a formula. Great explanation of what makes flourishes beautiful and the science behind it.

Paul, I was looking at the flourish for the “L”. You described it as a series of ovals. It also struck me that the flourish looked like a conch shell and the golden ratio

Holy shit! Ive never actually met another male calligrapher😳 I wonder how rare it actually is. I guess it might take a unique circumstance for a male to end up with such skills that require so many hours and repetition to perfect artistically. but whatever the cause… that’s cool man.

Thank you so much! Would you consider one day giving pointers on jow to make a signature? or different styles of signatures? I really need that, and I'd love to hear your input
@PAScribe9 жыл бұрын
+_ MyM4 _ A signature is something that is very personal - it is not easy to cover what you can do with it as, invariably, it is based on the writing system you either a) have, and was taught as a child or b) a hand that you adopted as an adult.

Do you have tips as in 'worksheet' ideas to practice flourishing until your manual comes out? 😁
@PAScribe7 жыл бұрын
Kotori Sama sorry I do not. Concentrating on the manual is taking up all of my time. One thing at a time
@kotorisama30807 жыл бұрын
PaulAntonioScribe so, do you think that if I keep doing 'figure 8' flourishing it would help? Also, I started doing calligraphy really young but I stopped for decades and restarting just recently... so the way I hold my pen is like a normal ballpoint pen. I've tried switching the way I hold it, but it's hard to unlearn. Any suggestions? You've been a wonderful mentor for me. Thank you sooo very much for all your replies and videos. Hopefully you'll visit San Francisco soon!!!!!🙏
@PAScribe7 жыл бұрын
Kotori Sama unfortunately I do not have time to answer your questions - what you are asking doesn't have a simple answer and would need to see you work to comment correctly, something which I really do not have time at the minute to devote to. Sorry. Just practise slowly and be conscious of smoothness in the writing
