very few of these tutorials explicitly mention pushing the bar out as soon as the kite starts coming back up to 12 o clock and then pulling the bar back in as it gets to 12 o clock (although this one did show it in the bar animation). I'm just learning to kiteloop but this seems to me like a fundamental step that nobody talks about

Another fantastic tutorial. I am always impressed at the level of detail; demonstrating board control, kite control and variations. The narration is exact to the video demonstration and the audio and video quality are second to none. Your channel is required viewing for my kids that are advancing in the sport. Cheers!

Your explanations are always TOP!!! I find out that I have understood more with your video than from direct esplanations from instructors and friends. The approach of not giving anything for granted is a winning one!! Please keep posting.

For the backloop, do you also pull the backside of the bar just before landing (like frontloop) or earlier? In the video it seems like the backloop is initiated when the highest point of the jump has been reached...

Thanks for the video guys. Stupid question, what is the purpose of a kiteloop? I've started trying to learn tricks like darkslide but noticed on your tutorial video on that that kiteloop is necessary? Thanks.

Hello Vinicius. It was mostly filmed at Witsand in South Africa, on the Breede river. The trainer kite is on Noordhoek beach, South Africa, and the drone shots are from Baby Beach, in Aruba.

Your tutorials are really great! I watch this one a couple of times and did my first downloop transitions and water start recently. I was wondering what are your experiences or advice for downlooping or helilooping with larger kites like a13,5m or even 17m - I use Core XR4 and XR5 - so the aspect ratio also comes to play - there is really not much space for a downloop - is helilooping realistically possible with these big kites?
@kitesurfcollege
@kitesurfcollege 4 жыл бұрын
You can definitely downloop and heli loop larger kites. In fact, I'd say that a 13 or 15m in light wind is the best way to learn for an adult around 80kg. You want the loop to be small and stay high above you. You don't want a large loop where the kite drops down in front of you into high power. This means you really need to crank the bar to get the bigger kite around quickly. For slower light wind kites (such as the contra) you may need small line extensions, a wider bar and to move the wing tip pig tails to fast steering, but it is still definitely possible. You can even downloop a 21m foil kite, although you can't heli loop them. Obviously you want to be under powered. If you loop a large kite in strong wind you might as well be tied onto a truck!!

Kite-Surf-College Tutorials and Tricks Thanks a lot for your reply and feedback! Yeah I have trimmed my large XR kites to fast steering, and use line extension for my 17m. So should be fine. Yes the pull at 20 knotes is an experience...will continue working on the downloops, and try a heli loop. Thanks again!

Great hints as usual! Alex, based on what, you decide to loop clockwise or counter clockwise? or doesn't matter?
@kitesurfcollege
@kitesurfcollege 6 жыл бұрын
Hello Gaetano. For the bodydrag loops, and surface loops try both sides, the more experience the better. For the aerial loops, you want to land on your strongest side. For example, with the HELI loop: if you're regular footed (prefer to have left foot forwards) then I would try it riding to the left side, which mean looping with the left hand as you land; however, if you're goofey footed (prefer to have right foot forwards) then I would try heli-loops for the first time riding to the right side, which mean looping with the right hand.
@GaetanoCrisci
@GaetanoCrisci 6 жыл бұрын
ok, so, doesn't matter so much in which direction the kite is turning from an aerodynamic perspective right? just the rotation that is easier to give as commands with hands...
@kitesurfcollege
@kitesurfcollege 6 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The kite should loop well on either side. The more important factors are the size of the loop, how fast you're moving, and whether you loop with your direction of travel or against it (like in a backloop). Have you tried any of these loops before Gaetano? What stage are you at?
