If you only wanted patina on certain areas, to give the look of something just beginning to age, is there a way that it can be applied more precisely?

Yes. There are two main ways to do that: 1 you can do what we did in this video, allow it to dry completely, and then dry brush more Copper B over the oxide, or 2. Apply 2 coats of Copper B, let them dry, and then sponge or brush on more Copper B in key areas where you want an oxide and apply the patina. The patina will only oxidize the Copper B that is still wet.

What would be a suitable base/solution to mix the copper powder into ? I'm looking to do a stone/concrete elephant in a green patina finish for my garden. I live in the UK so some things you use may not be available here. Thanks Carl

An acrylic base is what we are using here.

Was this casted from a real face mold, or from a sculpture?

This was a re-sculpt of my face from a lifecast mold done in 2003. Interesting trivia about this lifecast: this was done by some of the Barney The Dinosaur crew.
