👍👍loved hearing your thoughts on this one. As long as you want to work 80 hours week! Do it! Me personally, I don't want to ever be an employee (9-5 job) again but, I don't want to work over 40hrs a week either if I can help it. Over the last few years I've learned money isn't everything. As long as you are saving,the bills are payed and everybody is healthy and happy ,that's what matters to me. It's not worth killing yourself for it. This is just my opinion as of where I'm at in life as of now🤷♂️ Love the passion for your family ✊

I am in 💯% agreement with you on that. Family is so important I feel like I walk a very fine line on am I working too much or not enough and am I spending enough time with family. It can really crush me emotionally when I feel like I am not giving Rachel and Madison enought of my time. On the flip side I know that if I am not bringing in enough money to the house hold I am keeping us from the stability and security needed to let us thrive. J if you don't mind I would enjoy talking with you on the phone sometime this week. I know I would enjoy that conversation because we seem to have the same values.

Dude, you will be very successful. Your mindset is on the right track. A lot of what you are talking about is what my plan is. I will be going into my 4th year full time with my lawn care business. I busted my butt to this point going solo to own two trucks, two trailers and all equipment to run a crew. I will go all out this season. My goal is in the next two years to have a full crew going and myself and my wife to manage my business :) Keep up the great work Kevin!

A painting business is where the money is! Start off with interior repaints since that's the lowest start up costs and you can bootstrap those costs and you can do most of those jobs as a one man team, then when the money starts coming in you work into getting more equipment and start doing exterior repaints. It's my first year, actually it's my 2nd month owning a painting business and I'm already bringing in great money and doing my first exterior in a couple months.

My wife and daughter are the reason I keep my day job. Health insurance, regular pay checks, stability, you know. I'm happy you were able to have your business be good for you and your family. My business stole so much of my time and money from my family. I'm sort of happy my building got sold out from under me, I was leasing and the landlord sold it without even telling me it was on the market.

Not sure if it’s too late, but putting extra down on your house doesn’t help you any. Outside of equity, you could get so much more of a return on that money with it in a savings account with automatic payments to your mortgage. I’m not a financial expert, super broke actually. But I know that even just putting the normal 10-20% down, then dropping the rest after the loan begins is a better idea than dropping a huge down payment on a house. It’s not like a car, it doesn’t even reduce your payments by that much. (Anyone, feel free to correct me. I don’t mind being wrong)

hahah i didnt even realize i said that until the play back but it is completely true. it is really crazy how fast the hours add up. we put in 40 hours of production in 3 days a week and then there is all of the office / estimation and maintenance time as well it just adds up really fast. I have to schedule time with my family so that i dont spend that time working its so easy to do

The house looks damn good! Wish my siding was worth keeping. Wouldn't have minded painting it in like a dark gray rather than the original white showing through the shitty light blue paint job. Appreciate the business lessons. While I have no sense for business and love my current job, I shared it with a few people that could benefit.

@@LawnCareJuggernaut a fellow business owner recently talked to me about auction back when my old girl was having transmission issues. obviously not the first time i've heard of it, and i think i've even heard of people going to auction without "credentials," i've just never done it...if i don't go new, i think my next truck will be from auction....a sweet 3500 dually...maybe even a diesel... and i haven't forgotten you, brother, i just don't go on facebook a whole lot... not that my truck is a great beauty 🤣😂 but i love her.

Please, Kevin, stock up on lead paint testing kits for your painting business. You can bring home old paint chips on your clothes and expose your daughter to them. Lead in paint is serious, especially in older homes. You might want to have a HAZ-MET suit and a respirator on-hand and a box of bags and lead stickers, too. There is no kidding around with this stuff, it is poisonous and does irreversible nerve/brain damage, let alone kill you. Read up on it.

Painting only easier on the body for slow butt people with no production
@LawnCareJuggernaut Жыл бұрын
ok. its easier on the body because it is easier on the body....simple as that. it doesn't take a genius to figure that out and there are just as many successful paint business as lawn and landscape business. don't be loyal to a mower be loyal to success.
