Your voice alone is enough for one to understand your lecture. So soft. Just started following your lectures and they are amazing.

Hello @malgorzatabarrow4596 Here you go! A patient who has suffered extensive vomiting/diarrhea will become volume depleted (low blood volume) What will happen to sodium reabsorption in the PCT? A. less sodium will need to be reabsorbed to decrease blood volume B. less sodium will need to be reabsorbed to increase blood volume C. more sodium will need to be reabsorbed to decrease blood volume D. more sodium will need to be reabsorbed to increase blood volume ANSWER: C Low blood volume = increased reabsorption of sodium and water to compensate What will happen to levels of urea in the blood, measured by BUN (blood urea nitrogen)? A. less urea will be reabsorbed, BUN will decrease B. less urea will be reabsorbed, BUN will increase C. more urea will be reabsorbed, BUN will decrease D. more urea will be reabsorbed, BUN will increase ANSWER: D increased sodium = increased urea reabsorption, decreased urea excretion, increased BUN Which of the following will protect the glomerulus from high perfusion pressure? A. Constriction of Afferent arteriole B. Dilation of Afferent arteriole C. Constriction of Efferent arteriole D. Dilation of Efferent arteriole A - constriction of the afferent arteriole will decrease GFR (Note: D - dilation of efferent theoretically would also decrease GFR, but is only significant if not already dilated) If the Afferent arteriole is dilated AND the Efferent arteriole is constricted, which of the following will occur? A. GFR will decrease B. GFR will increase C. GFR will stay the same NOTE**: this occurs when Angiotensin II effects are combined with autoregulation effects ANSWER: Cà GFR maintained See Fig. 1.8 in Renke and Denker GFR is maintained by both autoregulation and angio II, Angio II is most important at low perfusion pressures (

@@PhysiologyforStudents Thank you very much! You are an amazing teacher! I love engaging in the learning process with your lectures. You explain everything so clearly. I am truly grateful. Is to possible to have an access to your slides? I keep writing them down which I love but sometimes I have very little time to master each chapter.
