I play queens gambit as white so I am looking forward to next videos! In my opinion QGA is absolutely ok if you know it really well. If not you will lose all your games against 3.e4, if you dont know IQP positions as defender you will lose all your games against 3.e3 and 3.Nf3, if you know your stuff you should be more or less ok and equal. The main downside is, that after 3.e4 white is always a bit more comfortable in my opinion and in 3.Nf3 and 3.e3 he can take on c5 exchange queens and almost always have a bit better and very comfortable game. Tho even IQP positions are interesting as white, but you have to be very strong tacticaly, as you can get only few even only one chance in the game to gain an advantage or even win, if you dont spot it, you will become a defender of a bad IQP. Those are my experiences from the white side of QGA.

Black can completely avoid the IQP positions after 3. e3 and 3. Nf3. Meet 3. e3 with e5 and leave white with an IQP. Meet 3. Nf3 with Nf6 and 4. e3 with Bg4.

I just started properly learning the Queen's Gambit as white and was really curious about black's potential incentive to accept the gambit... like you, after ...e4, I really like the positions for white after both e5 and Nf6, but you're making a really good case for c5 and the position looks really fun for black! I just might make this my new main way to meet the Queen's Gambit :D

Hi first of all thank you for your videos without them I would have trouble studying these openings. I would like to ask you, could you reccomend at the end of each opening/variation a book that goes really deep into it for the people who would like to study more of them? Thanks

Larsen's opening isn't an opening. It's a move. It will either transpose into another opening or the Middlegame will start immediately

Can somebody explain to me why at 11:40 the knight shouldnt take B5? seems like white is in a strong position after this if the queen moves a5
@hamzafeghouli42973 жыл бұрын
It will be faced with Qa5+ the knight will retreat to defend the king Nc3 then black gains a pawn + a well placed knight with Nxe4
@tedpaul83913 жыл бұрын
Hey, What about b5 after 3. D4? Seems to be a very interesting line where after trying to hold on to the pawn black loses an exchange however has great compensation with the bishop and should have good practical chances.
