"I enjoyed learning with you". Such an epic line to say to your students along with an amazingly delivered lesson. By the way, a question for you Mr.P, who is the best student among Billy, Bobby and Bo?

1:20 AP environmental science spoiled me. We had next to no math, so ,when we did, even our teacher would do this. It's worth having to break that habit for this year for the double periods of doing nothing but splashing around in a creek for an hour and a half every few weeks

At 7:06 you said because the minutes has 2 sig figs we estimate 1.16 repeating to 2 sig figs. But why are we looking at the minutes and not also the displacement which is 1890 meters

This video is so perfectly understandable ! I do have a question but this is not accordance with this video..what is actually initial velocity ( ik this is quite easy kind of question but i do wanna understand ) can u please help me out ? Suppose for an example , a body is thrown with an initial velocity of 10 m/s . Is this velocity obtained just after throwing or was it already 10 m/s ? And again when it is said that initial velocity is 0 ! What does this mean again ? What actually is initial velocity ? I have got several minute misconceptions like this related to physics ! Can u please help me out ?
@bonjour9158
@bonjour9158 2 жыл бұрын
Initial velocity means starting point is 0, there was no change in position prior to that instance

Well understood .My doubt is can magnitude of speed and velocity be equal if we shrink avg velocity to instantaneous velocity such that ds/dt =dx/dt at the small interval of time
@FlippingPhysics
@FlippingPhysics 4 жыл бұрын
The magnitudes of instantaneous velocity and instantaneous speed are the same.

Great vid! so the definition of speed is distance/time?
@FlippingPhysics
@FlippingPhysics 9 жыл бұрын
+Isabelle Bursulaya Yes. speed = (distance traveled / time elapsed)
@bellabursulaya2090
@bellabursulaya2090 9 жыл бұрын
+Flipping Physics Thanks! My teacher told us it was a measure of how fast something is traveling, but that's the same as distance over time, right?
@FlippingPhysics
@FlippingPhysics 9 жыл бұрын
+Isabelle Bursulaya Generally, when some one says how "fast" something is traveling, they are referring to "speed", yes.

i have a doubt, you said that speed and magnitude of velocity will be equal only if the object travels in a straight line but if an object moves in a straight line and then returns back to its initial position then its velocity will be zero as its displacement is zero but then its speed won't be zero yeah ?
@FlippingPhysics
@FlippingPhysics 8 жыл бұрын
When an object returns back to its original position, the displacement of the object is zero and therefore the velocity of the object is also zero. The distance traveled by the object will _not_ be zero, therefore the speed of the object will also _not_ be zero. Therefore, the magnitude of the velocity of the object will _not_ be equal to the speed of the object. This video might help as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnK6p4isfdGjmbM

I have a question will direction of displacement change in velocity
@FlippingPhysics
@FlippingPhysics 4 жыл бұрын
Just so you know "Can direction of displacement change in uniform velocity" is very different than "will direction of displacement change in velocity" which is not really a question and I am not really even sure what it means. Velocity is a vector. A vector has both magnitude and direction: www.flippingphysics.com/vectors-and-scalars.html The direction of velocity will change if the object is turning, therefore, there will be a change in velocity: www.flippingphysics.com/centripetal-acceleration.html
@artandelectronics3437
@artandelectronics3437 4 жыл бұрын
@roshan beeram yes the direction of displacement may change incase of instantaneous velocity but in average velocity the direction of displacement won't change
