On point. I was a temporary physics teacher (grade7) around 2 weeks after which students had a quiz. Although I went through the numericals I hadn't assigned them a numerical h.w or checked their work. Lo behold on the test paper I realized they didn't have the proper skills to solve the numerical. They solved mostly like Bo's

Agreed. That's why I made the video!

17:20 That's a very interesting thought! I would like to point out though that I often use Physics, especially AP Physics C as a motivation for my students to hone their Algebra and Calculus skills and thus overcome their number dependency. What do you think, Mr. P?
@FlippingPhysics2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, however, I would suggest physics teachers and students use this video very early on in their physics studies, however, I usually wait about one month into introductory physics before I really start urging students to "Let go of their numbers dependency". I'll have an entire video about it in one fortnight.

This is such a great video! Great explanation. It is good for students to see the reasoning and that other teachers agree.

Amazing video! I have spent the past week telling students to "Show All Your Work" just for them to ask why over and over. One asking me if it was my OCD.😂

You can just show then this video instead! 😬

I concur with Hansen. At high school level, do the students not have to be able to use their calculator well? Additionally, 4 / 2 does not equal 2 mm or 2 N or 2 kg. I suggest for you to remove that mistake. I see that in long calculations, the units are disturbing but in the end result, the unit could be displayed although not should be displayed. If the unit is being displayed it must be in parenthesis in order to avoid the problem I just highlighted. In addition, they have to write down the answer as a full sentence to the problem questions including the correct unit.

The Spanish audio is amazing. Thanks for the work Mr. P! - Jeffrey
@FlippingPhysics2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. My concern is that the Spanish audio tracks are so well hidden that they will not be found by users. Not sure what to do about that.

@@FlippingPhysics Perhaps in future videos, put "español" with a "CC" and a "🔊" symbol in the beginning of a video on a corner so that way, people know about it. Just a suggestion

@@FlippingPhysics Also, for youtube viewers watching from different countries in Latin America and Spain, their language settings are automatically set in Spanish. So, if they click on this video, they automatically see this KZbin title in Spanish and the Spanish audio track and subtitles are automatically turned on.

@Uwek Thanks for letting me know about KZbin viewers watching from countries in Latin America and Spain. That is quite helpful to know. I put the Spanish title and description, and was unable to see how that is useful. Now I see that people in applicable countries will see that information instead of the English. Cool stuff!
