I was an English major years ago but have not read much American poetry. ModPo sounds great -- I'm looking forward to it.

I am looking forward to having some spare time and reading all the poems you are going to "disclose" and "undo" for us. Thank you for having chosen "830 Fireplace Road" to dig into the fabulous relation poet-writing. I did not know this poem, but when you read it for us I felt energized, somehow different. Yes, I do think poetry changes us in ways that are at times unspeakeable. THE HOW IS THE WHAT, the how the poem is written, the how the poems is read, the how the poem is felt.

I am looking forward to the challenge, welcoming the opportunity to dust off my brain and learn as much as possible. Thank you!

Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this experience will just be just what I have been thinking about lately. It does not matter how many times we could read the same poem, each time will be different. I also am enjoying the format of learning by nearly being at the Kelly Writers House. You have been quite welcoming.

I've registered for this course but I must confess that I have not read even a single poem in English since I graduated in 2003! I'm sure it will be so difficult for me with all you professionals over there but I'll do my best (hope the slow internet connection in Iran will stop bothering me during the course!!)

Amazing. Relaxed people that actually look like they care for what they do and love. I'm looking forward too to the course, especially since almost none of my "forays" into American poetry territory was systematic enough. I was expecting something a bit more on the "narrative-ish" poetry like that of the Beat generation (because that is what the readers from my country are used to), but fortunately I am a lot more fascinated by language and conceptual poetry. :)

Hi, I am very excited about this journey! Looks like I'll be entering interesting streets of the world of poems that I haven't been exposed to. I hope I'll be able to hang in there till the end of this course - but more importantly, enjoy it thoroughly, the way you guys seem to. :) Thanks, Al and pals, for such a lovely welcome.
