This is hilariously accurate. I had some discussions with an ENTJ and every single time I could agree with him mostly but I kept telling him about the nuance he was missing out that made his conclusion wrong. I think he was thinking that I was just being difficult but I was really just pointing out the details because for me it made a significant difference. When he said something that I could easily fact check that was obviously wrong I started to question if I can take any of his "facts" seriously.

I'm an ENTJ and I definitely start with the big picture then refine with details as necessary. I often repeat back a summary of whatever someone just said to see if I understand the gist, and it's often taken as an oversimplification.

@autocosm in this case it was done via text and there was no repeating back. I also think this particular individual and I had issues communicating because he was from a very different culture and made a lot of assumption about me and what I was saying. I also secretly believe he wasn't used to someone going against what he had though and carefully deduced. And for him it was good enough to be close enough to the facts and for me it wasn't the case. Because by going with it as simple as he did he was saying some very discriminatory things. For example he thought with few exceptions all other MBTIs were lazy. That's why ENTJs could do as much as they do. It's because they are not lazy. And he thought all people could achieve what he achieved if they were not lazy. Which doesn't add up because people are not a black box that can all output the same if they have the same input. Even with tailored input you will still have people who can do / handle more depending on many factors. Yes, people may be able to improve their situation vastly by investing more wisely and effectively in themselves but the outcome depends on many things. I've been around enough people and helped them with learning things to know that not everyone can be a CEO and own property and build it all from scratch like he did. With patience, guidance and support / the right information, lives can be improved for sure. But he thinks just because he did it without help everyone else can too and they don't because they are lazy.

@@Basilicum_Raspberry I don't share his view that all other types are lazy, and I regret that he perpetuated that caricature of ENTJs that we are all 24/7 coffee-addled grindset bros looking to crush our enemies. I find it far easier to type people I work with in the real world discreetly to evaluate how we can work better together than to openly discuss types. That's when these performative exaggerated characters reveal themselves.

@autocosm that is a way better use for typing. I think it is a very useful tool but it has limitations and a lot goes into what we see from people than just their basic MBTI types, like upbringing, culture, values, personal idiosyncrasy, maturity, personal development and so on. So I had some issue with how black and white he was being. I'm not sure if he really believes what he said or of he just didn't want to loose the argument. I know another ENTJ male CEO and I asked him a few things and like you he didn't agree with the view of the other one. Thanks for sharing!

I think this is the best video you’ve made. Literally every single word in this video rings true, I feel seen. Well that definitely explains why my new pet peeve has been people using words incorrectly/hyperbolically to the point where the words lose all meaning. I didn't even notice how annoyed I would get about this, (because it's done in the real world SO FREQUENTLY now-a-days) until I started seeing people do this while I'm gaming. To others, I'm sure it seems silly, hell I can even acknowledge that in the grand scheme of things it IS silly. And yet, I still can't ignore how much it irks me at times. And the more I've let a person into my circles, the more it irks me when they do it because the only thing I can think is, "You should be better than that..." Overall, great video! Now what many people don’t fully understand is that our critical parent function is in fact our third strongest function, and that we used just about as much as our parent function; and way stronger than our child function. For instance you as an INTJ will use Ti almost as much as Te, as the data that you adhere to has to make sense. Now with my case being an INTP, I very frequently use my critical parent Ni and used almost as much as Ne. This is why we are very strategic and future-focussed.

My function stack is very weird, I feel most like an infp yet Ti is actually also my critical parent funny enough, my function stack is Fi> Fe = Ni > Ne > Si > Ti > Te > Se

Well, guys, yeah, you kinda have 2 properly functioning thinking functions: aux Te and critic Ti, one of the best equipped thinking types! Of course we cannot compare to you with our only Ti tertiary and non existent Te. Btw, can it be that Ti critic in INTJs brings out INFJ's Ti more? And the same happens to INTJ"s Fi when INFJ they met, is in touch with their critic? Also, thank you for the video, it's a curious sneak peek into your minds, the part that I was missing until now.)

That's a great question about the Ti dynamic between the two! I can honestly say that my experience with INFJs has usually been more along the lines of feelings than it is thinking because I can usually tell that I struck a Ti nerve with my INFJs. Let me think about it some more and get back to you if I arrive to any other conclusions 😅. What do you think?

in my experience ISFJs have very good Ti, even compared to INTPs. However I have noticed ISTPs have more intuition compared to INTP.

Slightly disagree with you as I've never heard an ISTP use Ne like I do. As an INTP-A, the world of information and facts is fractioned into multiple pieces like a jigsaw puzzle. It takes a rational mind to sift through all the of it, determine what's true and false, and then put the pieces of the puzzle together with the good information. I got into a discussion with a police officer regarding 2020 and told him that clearly the law enforcement community nationwide has not learned from their mistakes because it was the same outcome of what happened in 1991 regarding Rodney King. A few bad narcissistic officers is all it takes to create chaos and it was the exact same outcome back then as it was in 2020 regarding George Floyd. This is due to certain policies regarding criminal justice. The war on drugs and qualified immunity because of the fact that they both neglect constitutional law which is very complex to get into. However, the primary function of the US Supreme Court is to balance out truth, logic and reasoning in laws and policies (simplified explanation). When it comes to the war on drugs, addictive behavior is mostly emotional insecurities that stem from childhood trauma which the war on drugs completely ignores. So the war on drugs is missing the truth. Qualified immunity makes it difficult for other police officers to report bad cops since nothing will happen and realistically no organization is immune to bad people and this includes police departments. Those bad cops don't have to self reflect before they make a decision which takes away the logic out of logical decision making. They don't have to because they know they won't get in trouble most of the time. Then you add the fact that law enforcement is suppose to be a part of the checks and balance system in regards to their constitutional duties and they don't often dispute these policies like they're suppose to. So these race riots will happen again if none of these are fixed but most importantly if they don't weed out their bad apples. In regards to your comment, I've never heard and ISTP use Ne like this. This BTW is also how I make predictions since humanity is definitely flawed due to insanity. Humanity will continue to make the same mistakes repeatedly but the good thing is we're the first species in Earth's history that has control of our own fate. We can make changes that can last. You being an ISFJ, this might be a huge Ne-Ti dump for you as it might seem like a lot but I could talk all day about making predictions.

False since they filter logic and truth through Fe - social and societal norms. Besides, it’s their child function, so they will be blatantly ignorant and arrogant when concluding. I know an ISFJ and he’s too much Ti god complex, thinking he’s figured life out and always seems to know “better” than me, an INTP (!)

Keeping in mind the full framework, the ENTJ is able to perform comparable Te discussion with a fraction of the time it took you. Critical Ti won't let you SOUND stupid. But ENTJ Critical Ne says to quickly synthesize and Blast Se facts and keep it moving. The more graphs and figures they have to work with, the better. I am also wondering if you were Fi motivated in your research or if this was a neutral task for both of you.

I think it's hilarious that just today I was thinking about riot situations and how people behave, thinking to myself, "What's wrong with these people!", and then I see you mirror elements of that here. Then you talk about the misuse of words and I think of my own pet peeve of people using the word ignorant incorrectly, as when I may perhaps behave like a smart ass to correct someone and they say, "Why you gotta be so ignorant!" Of course, my behavior is more arrogant than ignorant but I guess people confuse the two. They seem ignorant of the word ignorant. Finally, a joke for y'all...Q: What's worse? Ignorance or apathy? A: I don't know and I don't care! 🙂
