I’m an introvert, but I’m also shy and quiet, so even when I am around people I’m comfortable with, I don’t always talk because I either don’t have anything to say (which is most of the time), or I feel like no one cares about what I have to say

Yeah I'm a guy and I can sort of relate, I'm pretty content hanging around my friends not talking and just listening. If you're hanging around people that you know don't care what you have to say, then don't hang around them. The best advice I ever heard was from Jordan Peterson and he said "If people don't listen to you then don't talk to them".

I am not so much introverted, but pretty messed up from some severe abuse growing up. Basically, just shut down to interaction due to PTSD issues. Recently, asked a guy some questions about his July 4th vacation and we are now dating. I am sitting here blown away because what I feared to do so much showed caring to the man I was talking with. It was drilled into me so hard through out my life to never ask questions about anything. So crazy how God works.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm a 58 year old single woman and still haven't found an equally yoked Christian man to share a lifelong relationship. I always thought that God was supposed to bring a faithful man to me. Mark explains that even though men like pursuing a woman, it is up to us to give them thumbs up for doing the right things that give them encouragement to continue. I have had a couple unhappy relationships in the last few years, so it is hard for me to begin all over again. When you get older, being played with seems to hurt way more. At least this is how i see it. 😢💔

THANK YOU Mark!!! I needed this. I met a man at my new job and I feel like there's a mutual attraction. He has a religious background but I don't know where his spiritual maturity is at. I was afraid that if I pursued the relationship myself without him making a move first that I wouldn't be allowing God to guide the relationship - that I'd be forcing it myself. I thought waiting on God meant that the man had to make the first move (dunno why) and I've been obvious to the man about my interest, but never asked him out outright. The problem is that there are other men at work who are more social than he is and they dominate conversations with me and I think the guy I like is getting discouraged because we never get the chance to talk just us. I thought maybe this was God telling me he wasn't the right choice for me and I was resigned to that. Your video made me realize my mistakes and I feel confident in just making the move myself - come what may - or else I'll never know because this guy does seem like the antisocial-introvert-passive type. So thank you! (I'm crying tears of relief and hope as I write this hahaha).

This totally speaks to me, as an introvert. I was wondering why some married men don’t wear wedding rings? I have seen a couple guys at church that I find attractive and would like to get to know better. They aren’t wearing a ring, so I think they are single. Then I see them with a woman and/or kids. Or I ask one of our Pastors and find out they are married. Makes it harder for Christian women to “invite” a man to pursue her. At least when the man wears a wedding ring, we know he is taken. After all when women wear rings, that lets men know they are taken. Them not wearing a ring, is a double standard to me. Though I realize some professions, make it challenging for them to wear them. It would make it so much easier if they did. I also go to a church where there is about 1,000 people over 3 services. So hard to know if there are single guys going to different services. I have asked a couple different Pastors at church as well as a couple friends, if they know any single men around my age. No such luck yet. So I will keep waiting

When you non purposefully start engaging with people to build personal development social skills they call you fake. Highly extroverted men tend to be extremely intimidating it takes a lot of yourself to pour into his life. But you know for introverts this is a agonizing process especially if it isn't well received. Mark thanks for the commentary I'm renewed in my Spirit to get up and start doing life . I want to engage with successful relationships and social groups on a sincere personal level. As an introvert we are uncomfortable with casual relationships. Due to our nature not to socialize with everyone we only want that one someone because we are guarded. But it's time to build relationships in every area of my life and this was a step. I didn't know Ruth pursued Boaz I thought he left grain offering to let her know he was interested and she got counsel to lay at his feet by Naomi. So it wasn't Ruth idea however it eventually worked out and that's neither here or there in my situation. But it does bring back a time I kind of regressed because people misread highly functioning introverts. They often think because you don't fight to be seen that you're incompetent so when you do open up they are not accommodated to you and feel you think you know it all. As oppose to learned it all God Bless you.

That’s actually saying I’m looking for a shallow relationship if I’m expecting a man simply to look at me and come over and ask me out when I’ve shown no interest. I’m so so guilty of doing all these things and I didn’t realize how it looks and what I was truly expecting. Thank you Mark. I’m introverted and dated a extrovert he didn’t make me feel loved and he didn’t want to work it’s like he didn’t want to be a man or a husband and I’m almost 31 on the 14th and he’s 24 years okdso I know it wasn’t going to last. Mark I been following you for a while now no relationship worked so now I’m focusing on God and I don’t want a relationship anymore. Also I pursued him not him pursue me.

Where are some places that soley Christians go outside of church? I wish I can go to only those places because the places I go aren’t the best at all. Random restaurants, the mall…I’m over 40…and African American so some believe this position is an invisible situation.

Another great video, Mark. I asked this question in another video and no one responded but I’d really like to know the passages of scripture that suggest men should be the “pursuer”?
@dinomra77712 жыл бұрын
Well Jacob literally walked up to Rachel and kissed her so, there's that lol.
@chill68632 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply! Yes! Jacob’s servitude toward Laban for a total of 14 years (even after being tricked by Laban) is certainly a great demonstration of love and patience for Rachel but I’m not sure that particular story can be used to say that God instituted that the Christian male should always be the pursuer. In other words, I’m looking for that clear directive from God in His word! I’m very open to finding such a directive but I’m yet to find it.

It's a principle taken from a husbands role as leader in the marriage and applied to the dating context (Ephesians 5:22-33)

I'm trying to change careers because my job leaves me exhausted as an introvert. I had a career that I enjoyed, and a guy friend who finally expressed his affection for me. Unfortunately, I was laid off and had to move back home in a different state. My ISTJ personality doesn't pick up "love signals." Men have to be direct with me. I've left a narcissistic guy behind and don't want to go through another mess like that. 😪
@dinomra77712 жыл бұрын
INFJ guy here, usually the way I pick up on anything is I compare how someone acts around their friends and then compare that to how the act around me. Also if a guy likes you, he will probably be intent to find opportunities to hang around you and find ways to communicate with you, at least that's how I do it. Hope this helps!

@@dinomra7771 I think that’s a great way to pursue a woman. Just make sure you also SAY that you’re interested, so that it’s CLEAR to her. BTW I’m and INFJ woman. However, I’m not looking for you to pursue me! Just letting you know that I’m in the same Meyers-Briggs boat as you!! 😁

I think you have that a little confused the story of the talent refers to taking our resources are blessings, Blessing others to increase God's kingdom and return to him tenfold which he has offered us. I don't think it all, that it was intended to use as a way to attract men. And sometimes the Lord wants us single for now, And so yes, we must wait patiently.. As christians there are many things that the Lord wants to teach us and if we draw close to him, he reveals himself in a miraculous ways to us. I have seen the miracles of God work in my family, and in my life. So I will wait on the Lord. Even if I must wait forever, as he is the love of our life, Too many christians are on the fence, They claim to love God and praise God and they go to church, But then the concerns of this world... And the expectations of others draw them back into their sins.. I don't believe in living by the world standards andpleasing others but to please the Lord our God, Whose laws are righteous and true they are love and peace and faithfulness. And daily when I am out in society tempted by satan, And put to the test. But as the saying goes *what would Jesus do.* 🤔 You must use that, and stand behind it. And in this way your light will shine before rest of the world. It is not a matter of, As Paul would say boasting... But rather as Jesus would do and set the example. And remember to praise God each and every day, for all things are by his *will* through his *power* and *strength* and *for his glory now and forever Amen*

Principles in the Bible should be used in all areas of our life, including in relationships :) Nothing in the Bible talks about dating directly. But clearly God wants us to date in a biblical way, so the only way to do that is to apply princeps in a wise way. Yes, many are called to singleness but more are called to marriage, so you need to be careful you are not miscategorizing people from your personal desires for yourself :)

What if the man you choose is a celebrity? I even messaged his mother whom he is very close to; and she also has an Instagram. I have never been as attracted to a man as I have to him. He is a singer and songwriter, and so am I. We actually have many things in common.

I do live in a place where, culturally and geographically, the female demographic isn't well served of single men. 11 years without practice, plus having dealt with chemo and b.c. treatment less than 5 years ago, I jumped a few hurdles life threw at me, surrounded by already married couples, or divorced female leaders in ministry. Whatever little social skills I got back in Europe, 11 years of South China former Portuguese region, I'm afraid I didn't even think about it and totally feel like I wouldn't know what to do if a single man was to pop up in such a setting I described. Well, mind you, we're getting new missionaries and I could be getting caught in disbelief and total unpreparedness. I'm one of the few edging close to 40, moved around the world a little more than usual, and options are becoming few. And now I panic at the thought that my emotions could trick me, so I've been fasting and praying. People around me seem clueless this is going on within me, and most advice I get is, as I'm doing now: from western side of the world, via this channel. Where I live, christians tend to think the single christian men have to be imported from other countries, but working visa is a whole set of struggles for those few guys who tried. It's a busy city that's geographically in South China but it's not even legally China because it's one of the Special Regions under autonomous government. It's just demographically crazy. Even the city seems to be "on a limbo", politically. I think I would and could get emotionally tricked easily as is something "too good to be true". It's like those airports where a small plane lands and it's like a jet has landed. People usually move to this city where I live already as a family, and work long shifts. Singles struggle to even meet. The few men missionaries spend so much time working long shifts to provide for families they barely see men to invite, they usually work with kids & local families who get married very early in life because locals get most job benefits. It's kinda complex to be applying general principles, but seems like trusting the Lord is what I can do. There has been someone new in town and in church serving us, and it's one of these cases of waiting for a working visa, with limited job options, but has been somehow sent to serve our city. Has been always around me calling my name while I hyperfocus serving, and I feel kinda caught off-guard. Lord help me 😂😂😂 Most of the time the introvert in me wants to be recharged from oral meds I'm still taking - it's personal and it's not at the same time!

I think you're asking the wrong questions. Ask yourself how you are being treated by others. Nothing wrong with a high and bye. God tells us to love others, he did not tell us to continue to allow ourselves to be abused by others. If you are not received, God says to shake the dust off our feet and go to another town where you will be received. Says nothing about forcing love onto others.

Over 50% of the population are introverts. We are not less valuable or lovable than extroverts. Both personality types possess both positive and negative qualities. Society must stop making introverts seem as if we are "weird", "too boring", "too quiet" than extroverts. Personally, I am quite over this stigma.

Sir, I’m not this is good advice. I think that the man should ALWAYS take the initiative of having interest. Too many men play with women and show half-baked attention. In my opinion, this is sneaky and cowardly. Boaz made it CRYSTAL CLEAR that he loved Ruth BEFORE she lay at her feet. She also had the go ahead from Naomi, who knew a few things!!! I say, I want to KNOW FOR SURE that my husband didn’t need my help to know what he wanted. Adam knew immediately how to see Eve! I believe that the man has more self-respect and confidence about the relationship, if he knows he took the risk first. An interested lady will joyfully respond. Just sayin!
