Just a tip to Guy: on many of your slides the figures from studies are not at sufficient resolution. Even at full screen and 1080 pixel resolution, I still have problems reading the Figure 3 from the study between 1:55 and 3:00

I get no issues with garlic onions or asparagus, but inulin in supplements blows me up!
@TheMicrobiomeExpert3 ай бұрын
Which makes sense. It's kind of similar to white sugar vs fruit. One is a sudden supply, the other is more gradual. But there are other considerations as well to take into account. Feel free to schedule a consult with me at Themicrobiomeexpert.com

Inulin killed me, same as ginger. Worsened my malabsorbtion and had to have iron infusion and blood transfusion. Crohns, colitis, bowel surgeries, Gerd, osteoporosis, fibromyalgea, motility and digestion issues with foods and inability to gain weight, with sibo/sifo symptoms ruin my life

Thank you for the information as always, Guy! I am taking notes of your videos to remember everything. I have one question: in SIBO if at the beginning inulin causes a lot of gas, but the rest of prebiotics don't, would it be advisable to wait a bit to add the inulin? Maybe it is feeding the bad guys in the upper gi tract but after several weeks with the other prebiotics, that hopefully can change significantly the context and ph without the inulin, the inulin can be added without causing those symptoms. Does this make sense?

12:20 which issues happen if you only use one prebiotic? some functional medicine specialistis say recommend only acacia fiber as single prebiotic. resistant starch can lead to explosion of bad bacteria. do you agree?
@TheMicrobiomeExpert14 күн бұрын
Many studies show no success and a reduction in HEALTHY diversity (alpha diversity is stupid) when using just one prebiotic. And at lower doses you can just feed the bad actors since a number of them possess the enzymatic machinery to ferment various prebiotics. I talk about this often. See my video on pH or my first slide from Pectin, etc. This is why my protocols are different. I always mention properly combining and dosing prebiotics to meet the needs of the individual.

I don't recommend one prebiotic. Additionally, inulin is a little tricky in some. You can try my healthy aging protocol. Themicrobiomeexpert.com

What source of insulin do you reference. J artichoke? Chicory ? Asparagus? Combo??

Insulin supplementation usually comes from a few sources, but no asparagus. Inulin is inulin. So don't worry about buying a certain type. Don't forget to like and subscribe.

I am wondering about Uric acid and Inulin since I am a gout sufferer after hearing this presentation I have learned elsewhere the connection between fructose and Uric acid however hope the inulin I take in my shake is doing me good on another level in the long run but should I I just eat my onions and garlic ?❤
@TheMicrobiomeExpert3 ай бұрын
as the microbiome is corrected, through my protocols, the metabolites such as uric acid, p-cresol, etc tend to get rectified. There is good data for this, and I'm planning on a presentation in 2025 on this very topic.

It's more complicated than that, and some people don't react great to inulin. I always pair prebiotics with 2-4 others. I recommend you consider getting my autoimmune protocol or schedule a consultation with me.

I don't pay much attention to mouse studies. far too many differences. if this were the case, you'd have to stop eating onions and asparagus - two high inulin foods which are very healthy. makes no sense. don't get lost in the weeds

Every body makes its microbiome depends what it eat. Carnivores have their gut biome, vegetarians have their gut microbiome. For human beings, there is no need of search supplements as the supplement companies says. The present youtuber is also a seller of supplements.
@TheMicrobiomeExpert5 ай бұрын
I don`t sell supplements. I recommend prebiotic supplements. People are welcome to buy inulin from whatever source they want. I make nothing off of that. And for those with dysbiosis, significant shift needs to be driven in their microbiome, and often, diet is not enough, especially after multiple rounds of antibiotics. Maybe you could improve your infinite wisdom by watching more of my videos. And don`t lie about me again.
