Inuyasha was my gateway anime back when I was in elementary school. I watched it on Toonami late at night. So nostalgic 😭

Ahh yeass those Fridays where you’d spend all day just waiting for the late-night anime segment to go on, which for us was over on YTV’s Bionix, XD Those are some treasured memories for sure. What were some of the other big shows at the time on Toonami that you used to watch along with Inuyasha?

@@tobinbtm omg same. I just did a full yu yu hakusho rewatch and was surprised by how well it help up! Thinking of doing kenshin next. Omg and someone just brought Big O back to my attention, and I was so shocked because I completely forgot it existed 😱

Haha for us watching YTV with Carlos and Sugar has become synonymous with our childhood. And the fact that Sugar voiced Mini Moon from Sailor Moon always blew my mind lol

On a rainy night in the spring of 2003, I found Inuyasha along with Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Big-O, and Lupin The 3rd on Adultswim. I grew up in the 80s watching reruns of anime classics like Speed Racer, Battle of the Planets, and Voltron; discovering Inuyasha and the others reignited my love for anime that I still have.

There was another anime that Viz Media/Ocean Group dubbed and brought over around the time Inuyasha was being brought over back then called Project ARMS. which was another adaption of a Shonen Sunday Manga. Although Project ARMS was about highschoolers learning they were implanted with nanomachine weapons called ARMS and having to fight back against an secret organization run by a group of clones called the Egregori. Alot of the Inuyasha VAs worked on that series, notably the recently late Kirby "Miroku" Morrow as the main character Ryo. As well as Shippo's VA Jillian Micheals as a rude potty mouth child genius named Al Bowen and Kikyo's VA Willow Johnson as a blonde American Psychic named Yugo Gilbert.

Very cool, thanks for leaving us your comment. We did come across Project ARMS briefly while researching the voice actors for Inuyasha but kinda shied away from it since we hadn’t seen it yet and we weren’t sure which characters were actually main ones vs. extras. What’s your verdict on Project ARMS - Is it worth checking out?

@@lazylion.productions It's a pretty interesting series, though a flawed adaptation of it's Manga. Everyone in the Dub is well casted and for the most part well acted, though some of the dialogue at times is pretty questionably hilarious (The kind of dialogue you would find in Ghost Stories), considering Viz hired Amanda Winn Lee as co-scriptwriter for the dub. The Animation Quality can be hit and miss, especially in its second season called "The 2nd Chapter" where they switched from Season 1's Cel Animation to Computer Animation that was the norm of anime shows back in the early 2000's. I say its worth the watch, especially for its dub, considering we rarely see Ocean working on anime anymore these days, not to mention what became of Kirby Morrow. Discotek Media has relicensed the Anime for over $50 for the entire series, though episodes can be found on KZbin.

Thanks so much :D If you end up watching Inuyasha, let us know what you think! Now, as for the Escaflowne movie, (haha) we can’t make any promises, no matter how compelling the siren’s call (Sora) might be lol Nice choice though, Sora is probably my favourite song from the movie soundtrack ;)
