So, I may have been a bit more snarky in this video... because I was stream and didn't originally intend to upload this video >< Hope you learn from it regardless!

I think some beginners get accustomed to invading on the 3-3 point playing high handicap games as white. Just a theory.

Excellent lesson. This sort of insanity is something I always struggle with. I think I've had a bit of a break through in mentality with this demonstration, let's see if I can implement it ;D

25:27 - major takeaway, you don't have to respond to the reducing move; as a low dan I usually think either/or play under/over. But you can just play away.

This was a great lesson. To me, the most valuable part of it was not what you did, but how you did it. After following you for more than year, I believe I have managed to get a decent grasp on what to do strategically. Where I often fail is tactically. For example, why was e14 the best response to his first poke? You said "shape it". What makes that a good shape in that position? Why not e15? or c11? or h15? Why was m9 the best dividing move later on? I would have played m8, not daring to go farther. I often get in trouble with my separating groups, which end up themselves separated. Anyway, thanks again for all the great material you post.

dwyrin there is something i dont get - we say that (1)'a weak group is worth infinity points' and that (2)'opponent cant save 2 weak groups at once' but we also say - (3)'run with a partner' so dont the 2 first proverbs contradict the 3rd proverb?
@dwyrin
@dwyrin 5 жыл бұрын
The partner implies your opponent has a weak group too. 1 and 1. not that you have 2 and you're running both. If you have a weak group and your opponent does not and is attacking you, you're worth infinity points if he can find a way to milk the board dry of them

Hi Dwyrin! Quick question. I am currently 12k+ in Pandanet, arriving to 11k shortly! I´ve only have 1,5h ish of time a day for activ playing/studing, besides the meals time that I usually spend with your videos ; ) How would you recommend that I spend this 1,5h??? Because, after your advices in the Basic series, I sort of left tsumego, and follow the idea of play games only; If I win I keep playing, If I lose, I spend a little time to study (38 Basic Joseki and Tesuji of James Davies). Any tips?? Thanks in advance!

batts, when should you consider keima connect (e.g. n5) instead of hane response to 3-3?

if youre fighting for sente would be a good one. if he responds you can play elsewhere

Dwyrin, please, please. Could you upload your videos with higher volume? Unfortunately I cannot hear you in medium-low noisy environments unless I use headphones (which currently I do not have) ):
