In this video I show you how to invert the polarity of two circular magnet arrays by just sticking them together and also by adding a ring magnet in the center.

I wonder if you could use this in a magnet motor to maintain rotation. You could have the rotor with magnets attracted to the array and just as it hits the center point of attraction you can flip the array to repel. It would need some sort of timing mechanism. I wonder if you could use an electromagnet in the center to achieve the same result. The real question is if the amount of power required to switch it is less than the power generated from the rotor.

That's a very interesting idea, since the center magnet sits at a "rest point" where all forces cancel out. I imagine placing an electromagnet in the center with an AC signal applied so it switches the polarity of the whole array constantly and then place some coils around the changing magnetic field of the whole array, so you have a generator with no moving parts.

@@OmegaZZ111 Oh thats an interesting idea as well. I was thinking of using it to apply rotation to a rotor but we could skip that step entirely. Might further help with efficiency as youre avoiding any loss due to the conversion of magnetic to mechanical energy. Would be worth investigating, although im not sure the COP would be >1.

Hi, very interesting, quick question though. if we were to use an electromagnet in the middle, what magnetic field strength would it have to have? equal or stronger? or is weaker acceptable? since it is really difficult making a powerful electromagnet.

I have a video showing the same array with an electromagnet in the center, the field strength of it doesn’t have to be that strong to change the overall field of the array. The biggest issue is to dissipate the heat generated by the electromagnet.

@@OmegaZZ111 thank you so much for your reply, I'm very interested in trying this out. Is the circular shape required? Or is the goal just any configuration of permanent magnets with a "resting point"? If so, I think the heat problem can be solved rather neatly

@@Qwerty-ff1cr Any shape that creates a zero point where you can place the electromagnet at would work I think. 🤔 What purpose should the configuration serve?

What can we extrapolate from this ? And can we explain the earths polarity shifts ?

Maybe with taking the (very regular) polar shifts with the sun into account. I don´t know. Just a thought.

I recently switched the polarity of a magnet by pressing magnets together of the same polarity, and then when i removed the two sets of magnets from one another, one magnet had switched polarity, and; now is attracted to both the north and the south, poles; of the stronger neodymium magnet. it is interesting. its in my recent uploads under (can a magnet switch polarity, at 3:40 seconds into the video)

The stronger neodymium magnets are remagnetizing the weaker ferrite magnets, view your magnet that changed polarity under a magnetic viewing film, you will see what I mean. This effect is permanent and will most likely make the ferrite magnet useless if it is not magnetized again properly.

@@OmegaZZ111That is very interesting. and that makes sense. i didn’t realize that neodymium magnets had the power to flip the polarity/charge and remagnetize a weaker magnet. i could see weakening the strength, but flipping the polarity entirely, was not what i was expecting. i think the remagnetized magnet cost approximately one dollar and fifty cents so it is okay with me if it is not longer useful as a magnet. i also thought it was quite interesting that after the re remagnetising if the less powerful magnet, that it had the ability to attract to both north and south, poles, of the neodymium magnets. i have never seen nor herd of this before, even with weak verses strong magnets.

I was kinda curious too when it first happened to me...your magnet has probably multiple poles on each side now, if you have a magnetic viewing film look at the magnet with it. You can even "draw" patterns on the ferrite magnet that you can see with a field viewer.

@@OmegaZZ111That is very interesting. i will need to purchase this magnetic viewing film that you mentioned. thank you for mentioning this. i am very interested in learning all that i can (all that is available to learn), about the properties of magnetism. multiple magnetic poles and the ability to manipulate the poles and flux fields, this is interesting! once i have purchased the viewing film, i will test what you have mentioned. this sounds very interesting. this is very interesting to me! i will look in the description of this video to see if you have shared a direct link to the magnetic viewing film that you are using in this video. if the link is not yet there, may you please share a direct link to the viewing film you are using in this video. i like that the film is very large, and easy to see as well. if there is a film that you recommend more than the one in this video, please also include a link to this. thank you! if this film is available on amazon, please share that link to the amazon product/viewing film.
