I have a ceramic resistor installed in my circuit breaker box between the batteries and inverter with a momentary switch that I press before turning the breaker on. It has a current resistor and led across it that goes dim when the caps are charged.

Hello, what value is the resistance to charge the capacitors is from the inverter, thanks

Maybe Power Jack should put an IMPORTANT MESSAGE in their packaging to warn amateurs / first-timers about inrush and get them to slowly charge the inverter caps via a current limiter.

If you don't much like the Inrush Spark and Arc Use a resistor between the Inverter post and Pos lead. Pre charge the Caps via a resistor before installing the Pos Lead. Hook Up the Neg Lead. Tie a 100 Ohm 5W resistor to your Pos Binding Post. Now Touch you Battery Pos to the other Lead of the Resistor. Count to 10. Remove the Resistor and complete your Positive Connection as normal. If you take to long to terminate your Pos it will spark anyways because the Caps have a Bleeder Resistor across them to drain the charge.

I have another video where I use a light bulb to act as the resistor.

@@GenetrySolar Actually I have light buld with soldered wires just for such things. I use it to connect the E Bike battery.

I had an inverter that I hooked up to my car battery I thought nothing of the spark at first but then my inverter was just coming on and giving no power when I plugged in my laptop. The inverter was taken to a technician and he said the wires were fried inside. Now I bought a new inverter and I’m scared of the spark. Seeing that my previous inverter got damaged do you think there is something wrong with my battery? Can the battery fry the inverter?

I haven't enough space to plug my inverter at the extremity of my batteries bank... May I plug it in the middle? They are set in parallels.

i noticed on my 8k watt when i touch the neg post it sparks then i take it off then back on no spark.

Hi a technician was checking my battery pole on a freightliner cascadia and said he got shocked while handling the batteries, is that normal?

Did you ground your inverter to chassis ground of your truck? If so, disconnect that.

For the Warranty representative did you take a look at your finish Video for a DIY guy ok maybe but a rep come on all red wire teach a standard use heat shrink black /red easy fix for The DIY guy 2 on your hook up and safety for the DIY guy come on a lot more Control and way safer to hook up positive first they would have less chance of a accident and don’t show a cross over with your wire take an extra minute and get a longer cable or have it set up so you don’t have a cross over ..your info is spot on but take a look at it as a person looking for information just trying to help make your video as good as the info
