The results of that test proved she was amid severe preeclampsia and at risk of losing her life and the life of her baby.

Such a beautiful story I am crying 😢because so many women and friends have died due to preeclampsia. My close friend died by the time she reached the hospital it was too late she died but her baby was saved.

There One thing that can be done for sure is to help prevent risk. The doctor can start you on aspirin starting at 12weeks pregnant. An explanation in my words:Preeclampsia is thought to involve the placenta and the blood vessels in the placenta..the narrowing of arteries and blood flow disruption can happen and suddenly out of nowhere a mom can develop preclampsia, this usually occurs in the second trimester w no warning other than dangerous high blood pressure headaches that wont leave and swelling. Doctor's now have new guidelines on who is at risk. The trouble happens during implantation after fertilization.. it is a blood vessel issue involving the placenta..but dosnt manifest until second trimester. I was rated in moderate risk category..so therefore my doctor has me on aspirin my risks were: #1 Im advanced maternal age #2 its been more than 10 years since last pregnancy #3 my BMI is high #4 and i have had episodes of high blood pressure in the past. There is a risk factor chart and the doctor can access your risk if you are high or moderate. The asprin works by allowing greater blood flow in the placental arteries ..this is important bc at 12 weeks there is a massive growth of the placenta and baby. And this allows better flow and function of the placental arteries.. understand:.the trouble occurs when narrowing arteries in the placenta cause restrictions in blood flow and it actually starts to affect the mother.. how? When the placenta has blood flow issues the body produces an inflammation next, it is sent throughout the mothers system.this inflammation in the blody causes distress and inturn high blood pressure, swelling, headache..plus the baby is not receiving proper care from that distressed placenta and this causes an emergency for both mother & baby.asprin is a good measure to help w mothers at risk.

This doesn't sound like a test for preeclampsia. This sounds like a test for which women with preeclampsia are likely to develop eclampsia.

I had preeclampsia and because of that I had to deliver my daughter at 35 weeks. She's still so tiny❤. Doing well and eating too. So glad preeclampsia is being acknowledged and looked for as well. I started on aspirin at 25 weeks. But my BP was high when I went in for my prenatal visit. So that turned into an emergency C-section. My baby is 3 weeks and now weighs a little over 5lbs.

This is an odd story. It talks little of the test itself and more about what the risk of preeclampsia is. Which is consistently repeated. Would have liked to know more about the test itself, the orgins of it and how one uses it to actually diagnose preeclampsia.
