Re the Despair Time creator: yeah, we legit shocked them with how much everyone was obsessing over David. They expected everyone to hate him, but instead, we got... SIMPing. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that we broke them. The big reason I was always sus of David was because he talked about finding fans annoying or something, and then suddenly he acted like he cared lots about Xander. The buildup to the reveal this chapter was edge of your seat stuff, and while I was just expecting someone to kinda scam people, he seems so much worse than a mere conman or simply putting up a show. I get the comparisons to Syobai, but Syobai feels at least somewhat self motivated even if he has a low opinion of himself. I kinda get the sense David is someone completely misanthropic and nihilistic, to the point he might not even care about himself anymore. And the lying aspect too... I'm viewing this with a Kokichi lens and am trying to remember not to trust anything he says. It's possible that he's even exaggerating how horrible he really is, just like how Kokichi would. There's so much we don't know for sure, and that's what fascinates me. Also yeah, I'm pretty convinced David lied about his secret being Xander's. He waited until the end to see who was left and he's currently holding this card to himself for now. I have a feeling it's still Teruko's secret he has, the way he was like "why don't YOU share?" felt very pointed. Though funnily... I actually think his family depression might NOT be a lie. It wasn't his motive secret, and he likely knew that, but deception can still take the truth and put it in a context that obscures a larger truth. I say this because like I said, he just seems so nihilistic about everything, and what might be his worldview about people. His comments about people could potentially be about himself too, but as he's gone Kokichi, we can't know for sure. For someone so arrogant and looking down on everyone, he doesn't seem to be relishing it, that's what it seems like to me.

Spoilers for this stream I honestly think that David is pretending to be more evil than he actually is, kinda like Kokichi did in V3. A lot of his behaivor is pretty inconsistent if you look into it a bit more. His positive and optimistic persona was fake and now he claims that in reality he doesn't care about anyone and that he's nothing more than a selfish piece of shit. But there were many moments where David acted hopeless because he was upset about something. Like how he reacted to Areis and Xanders bodies. Or after mins execution, where he claimed he wont keep his hopes up anymore and that they're all going to die here. These don't fit into his fake hope personality, so why would he lie about that? I also dont think he lied about his family having a history of depression, I think he just specifically lied about that being his secret. But that doesn't mean it was wrong. Furthermore, he shows a looooot of signs of depression, including the negative way he talks about himself and how he claims that bad people are never able to change. I think David will play a very antagonistic role in the future, but not because he's actually evil. We can't be completely sure about what his motives are yet, but it's probably because he really hates Teruko. It is very likely after all that he received her secret, he definitely lied about having Xanders. I cant wait to see more of his character in the future, he seems to be very complex

Poor David. I hope He'll be able to make a change after this trial (if he isn't the killer) and everyone helps him, I don't think Hu will be that forgiving but the others might be. I really love this character development.

Agreed. His secret was written not to expose him, but to pry at his destructive inner dialogue. It's like how in V3, Ryoma's most precious person was "nobody", which drove him to throw his life away. It may not actually be true, but in confirms what he tells himself inside, which leads to this breakdown.

Agreed. He did say at one point that "I'm running out of ways of being an annoyance"... I think he's clearly putting up a show there. And the way he earlier said he's looking forward to the painful execution of the killer makes me think he did care about Arei. He got upset enough there that he totally lost his composure for a moment. He's a liar, and a misanthrope - possibly partly due to his depression, it can make a person cynical - but I don't believe that's all he is. Also, if he's such a good manipulator, why does he work as an inspirational speaker? The goal is to help people... and if he's got the title of an ultimate in that, he's got to actually be good in it.

Watching David is simply painful, he just has a lower than average empathy combine with the desire to be genuinely compassionate and caring and sweet and positive and shit. And because he never lives up to his expectations, he thinks he's an awful person but he just... isn't. He just depressed and being dramatic about it. (Spoilers) You wanna hear some delulu? I don't think David is truly this evil. I think he actually DOES have depression, and this reveal is just his inner dialogue getting out. David genuinely wanted to help and stop conflict. He wanted to support those around him. But his severe depression told him "You just want to serve yourself. You're not helping, you're manipulating them. If they can change, it's just because they were good to begin with. People don't change, which means you will only ever be a horrible person". That's why his secret was what it is. It's not actually true, but it feeds into what he secretly thinks about himself. And now that everything has crumbled around him, he's embracing it and allowing himself to be the asshole he's always told himself he is. If DRDT continues (and God I hope it does) I think we'll see David survive through Chapter 4 or 5, and in the end he'll have a noble sacrifice.

Spoilers Ive been keeping a close eye on david through this whole series cause we saw immediately upon meeting him how he was putting up a front, and “motivational speakers” are generally shady people in real life too, but his ahoge and general protag demeanor were really throwing me off… And now, we see that he was filling a “Fake Protag” role, like a mastermind version of Naegi and oh my GOD!!! Honestly, I can't really hate Ace. He's agressive, an asshole, treats everyone like crap, but he gets so much disrespect from others that I can't make myself hate him, for example, that time he was arguing with Nico because our pal legit called him stupid to his face and thought it wasn't an issue and just "constructive criticism", and now with Veronika exposing his secret like it's some 'fun fact' about his career (it may be one of the most normal secrets on the list but it's still a serious issue) Also, I think he's like this as a coping mechanism or something like that, after all his life is most likely garbage (he's already forced to do something he's afraid of so...).I also have the theory that he knew Nico had his secret (or maybe it isn't a theory and I just forgot it was said before) and that's why he started intimidating them, so they wouldn't tell anyone. I can't believe I just made a whole ass Bible about Ace, maybe I like him more than what I thought. Ok now spoilers from the David situation: Everyone was so down bad for David,the barking was hilarious, just as I expected (btw, thanks to that one person in chat that tagged me when it happened because I said I wanted to see it lol)

To add: He started acting even worse after Teruko said someone as cowardly and unlikeable as him was going to die soon in a killing game. Nico also literally tries to murder Ace by slicing his neck open and making him inhale terpentine and while he gets reprimended to a degree at the trial, most of the other characters brush it off "because Ace kinda deserves it anyways for being an asshole" and when you're someone as unstable and insecure as Ace, that's probably not going to make him want to better himself for these people lol, Ace is so annoying but the slight justification behind his actions at times stops him from crossing into being a hateable character for me

I know I'm a year late to the party here, but I've seen an interesting theory that the reason he tends to be confrontational with Nico (prior to being killed) is because he's looking for an excuse not to eat without anyone questioning it. It's been established that he has an eating disorder where he refuses to eat to the point of his body falling apart. And like, the fights almost always take place during the group meals. And people will care more about defending Nico than actually paying attention to whether or not Ace is eating.

Hi, Weeby! Theres a fangan I think you’d enjoy. Its called: Danganronpa: Rejected Zer0. 16 talented (and criminal) students were rejected from Hopes Peak Academy due to crimes they’ve committed. Hopes Peak opens a therapy institute, where the group of 16 stays. Everything is well and good, until the killing game begins. Its simplistic, but overall nice. The characters bounce off each-other very well, and theres a VERY interesting (and somewhat sadistic) antagonist. Not to mention, theres ADHD and LGBTQ+ rep! The main character is probably the best protagonist I have seen by far.

I feel like David pinned the secret on Xander cause... imagine if he had said it's Teruko's? What would have come of the trial after that? I also think it was Teruko's. My guesses for the rest of the secrets... Xander: dead family (extra episode) Levi: murderer (because of the "no remorse" thing. In the beginning of this chapter, he had trouble figuring out how to grieve, and when Eden told him it's ok to grieve as he normally does, he said something like "then I'll do nothing.") Hu: poison (could be just some laxatives or whatever, to keep them from performing) Min: harm yourself (that's why Hu doesn't want to say whose it is. If it belongs to a dead one it's not relevant, and it's pretty personal one) Veronika: suicide attempts (maybe she lied when they were asked if anyone got their own secret... just for fun) Also, that "why don't you" from David pretty much confirms to me he has Teruko's secret. As for the murderer... I'm suspicious of Arturo. His alibi is based on the note, but what if that note was double fake? As in, it was never sent to Arei in the first place? I'd say it was pretty careless of the killer to leave it that close to the crime scene... and it was very conveniently torn in a way that would hide the gender (and identity) of the one threatening Eden. No one else really had a reason for that other than Arturo.

Late but there's two things I find interesting about your Veronika theory! 1. If she got her own (which I suspect too) then that means at least one other person *must* have also gotten their own since there's an equal amount of secrets to people. My guess is Hu personally, because she specifically said in the trial (1:21:53) 'I don't want to share *my* secret' which could mean the one she received is her own - other than that it's just a hunch lol 2. In the investigation episode Veronika mentioned something about how Arei was too light for… yknow… so that may be a hint to something she may have experienced in her past. At first I chalked it up to her love for horror and psychology but I can't say for certain she's also an expert on forensics and would know the specifics on that sort of thing.

I'm not sure about 1, though... of course it's possible someone else got their secret too, but I don't know why it would be a must? The secrets could be divided for example the way I suggested, and then Veronika is the only one with hers.

In case you didn’t notice… (Slight Spoilers!) At 1:10:41, David most likely lied about whose secret he got. From the second bonus time episode, we know that Xander’s family is dead and that he blames himself for it, leading to the conclusion that the the motive Min got is his. But David claims otherwise, and since Min is, y’know, dead, it’s not like she can say otherwise. David strategically waited to go last, so that no one else could contradict him, and with everything we learn about his personality later… I don’t doubt that he’d lie. My theory is that David is lying about the motive so that he can use it as blackmail against the person the motive is actually referring to (who, let’s be real, is probably Teruko). Or maybe he just wants to mess with everyone, I dunno. Lol when I wrote ‘Teruko’ is autocorrected to ‘Trump’…

Spoilers I was also thinking that Whit might have lied about his secret being the one about his mother. Rose didn’t see whose secret she had, so nobody can confirm whether she actually had Whit’s. My current thought is that David’s secret about the person being responsible for the killing game might be Whit’s making him the mastermind, and the two of them might have met and agreed not to reveal the truth to the others. That would explain why David lied about having a family history of depression without worrying that someone would call him out for lying: because he knew the person who had his secret wouldn’t do that. Maybe Whit promised to help David make it far in the killing game and not intentionally out him as a manipulator as long as David kept quiet about Whit’s role in the game and manipulated the others into killing each other to keep the game going.

Spoilers (if you want to hear my theory about the killer) I think it’s Levi. He has no alibi for when Arturo, Arei, and Eden were talking, so he could have overheard. He also has no alibi for the time of death, and said he was doing laundry, which could be related to the starchy ball of clothes that Charles found. The other characters who don’t have an alibi for the time of death are Nico, Rose, Ace, and David. However, Nico and Rose were painting during that other conversation, and I just don’t think David or Ace did it. I also think Levi’s secret is that he’s a remorseless murderer because I think I can guess who the other secrets belong to, but I’m not sure.

Im bored so im making an execution for every player. Teruko- Out of luck:Teruko is forced to relive all of her past injuries over and over eventually dying bye a fake xander stabbing her. Arei- Bowling ball extreme:arei is tied on a wall beside a bunch of Bowling pins Bowling balls start to roll down at her eventually killing her of blood loss. Eden: Tower of big ben:tied onto a giant clock as time passes the handa of it eventually start to crush her turning her into dust that falls into an hourglass. Arturo- Surgery 101:pretty people start preforming surgery on arturo making him bleed and making him uglier killing him of blood loss. Ace- Final horse race:ace is tied to a finish line and horses start to come at him stepping and kicking him to death and died to a final blow from a face nico. Part 2 coming soon.

That being said.....(Stream spoils below) That boy is definitely lying on some shit because that look he had with the fishes was absolute dumbfoundment, as well as his "Of course." When seeing Arei. I'm HEAVILY suspicious of Levi though, because with the few secrets left(and the other two boys' secrets being confirmed to be sister death and manipulation), Levi HAD to have killed someone.

My Top 5 Suspect lIst from least likely to most likely #5: David: Him having his villain arc breakdown seems way too convenient, he's probably pulling a Kokichi on us. #4: Artie Again this one seems way too obvious #3: Levi Now we're getting into semi plausible territory, We have no idea what his secret is, it's possible his secret might be the one about being a Murderer #2: Eden Those could very well be crocodile tears. #1: Rose It's always the ones you least expect, and she was one of the very few people who ever visited the Gym.

I think the key to catching the killer is connecting Arei's murder to what happened to Ace. Back in the gym, the wire that was around Ace's neck was attached to the ceiling fan on the ground. It looks like someone tried to hang him too and Teruko's luck caused the fan to fall when she was nearby. The tape attached to the fan was the grip tape used on the stuff in the gym, the same tape used on the carousel and the same tape they found in the trash (likely to bind Arei's hands). The day after Ace almost died, Teruko and Rose went to the gym as soon as it opened only to find that the grip tape was missing. Nobody was able to enter the gym before Teruko and Rose went in, so the only way for the killer to have the grip tape is if they took it before Ace almost died. I want to believe that whoever tried to kill Ace is also the culprit, since it was used for him as well, but there's a few problems. First, I don't think Nico killed Arei, but he's still the most likely suspect for Ace. Second, the grip tape used for Ace was still at the crime scene when MonoTV kicked Teruko and Eden out. So: either Nico isn't the one who tried to kill Ace, or somebody other than Ace's almost killer stole the rest of the grip tape before he was attacked. The main thing is that the culprit has to be someone who accessed the gym before Ace almost died. My top suspects are Arturo, Rose, Hu, and J.

I honestly don't buy David's true self it might just be denial but David in this game is playing the role of nagito and kokichi at the same time, David's true self would be the mix of the really good one and the really bad one because afterall he's still human, thats how humans work. so ive made an essay about this and i guess i relate to David so i have to defend him number one: David really did seem to care, no matter how good you are at acting there are just some things you cant stop like blushing, eye dilatation, increased heart rate, body language and genuine sadness really cant be stopped without acting your whole life to stop it same with break downs so when xander died he withdrawed fully knowing hiding sadness is too hard to pull off, and he didint have the pleasure to withdraw when aerei died so he had a miny breakdown knowing he made things worse with him motivational lies to her but don't get me wrong i don't think he believes his own speeches im sure he partially believed that people are born good or bad probably why he's even given up on changing himself and uses facades instead, again i know how he feels heck i believe a lot of the stuff he believes. i use fake personalities and do alot of the stuff he does so my opinion has some weight. number 2: the reason david acts this way is probably to fit in but this is just based off personal experience perhaps he was abit of a pessimist and abit tempered as a kid maybe 6-7th grade and his behavior wasnt reciprocated well so he learned to act like himself without all his flaws, and when people figured out his secret he acted like himself with all the flaws and no good parts, for his secret im guessing its a exaggeration because im pretty sure he does take advantage of others but he dosent really emotionally manipulate them, just tell them things he doesn't believe

Spoilers: As speculation about the killer, I don't think we have enough evidence to know who it is, but I do have a hunch: Not revealing who's secret is who's would be kinda unexiting, so, what I think they have planned is that the killer murdered Arie with some kind of trap, in witch the culprit didn't need to be physically in the playground to kill her. maybe it was some sort of rope and pulley system, maybe something reminiscent of the SDRA2 chapter 1. The point is that the class would come to a point where the killer is impossible to identify with only the crime scene, and the only possible suspect would be whoever's secret Arie had, so they go one by one reveling everyone's secret until the killer is unmasked. This would suggest that the killer *must* be one of the person's who's secret hasn't been revealed yet

If we're speculating the killer, I would add that Charles' realization is likely that the note said 7:30 AM and not PM. Because of the function of the trap, it could be set up at night and used in the morning. That's also how the killer got the fish, even though the relaxation room is closed at 7:30 AM. This means the killer had to set up the trap at night, but also have no alibi in the morning. Right now my eyes are on Ace and Levi. Ace was able to set up the trap if he was up there at night, but Levi was doing laundry, which is where he could have made the ball of clothes evidence. Alternatively, it's possible Arei set up the trap and wrote the note, but somehow it was intercepted and used against her. If, say, Arturo took the note from Eden's door and arrived before Arei to ambush her with her own trap.

Theory!! Honestly, I am pretty convinced that Levi is the culprit. For multiple reasons: -It was said multiple times that he has a dark past, so he probably has a secret that he would really want to keep. -The culprit would have to be someone who is tall, because Arei is hanging from the swing set and, as Veronika demonstrates, the swings are very slippery. -Out of all the people whose secrets have yet to be revealed, he was probably the least relevent so far. -He has been very quiet lately. -Charles found that suspicious ball of old clothes in the laundry room. And when Levi was giving his alibi, he mentioned that he did his laundry at one point. -Arei has constantly been manipulating him, so maybe he had to choose between believing David and Arei's words and chose to believe who he thought to be more trustworthy.

I have a prediction as to who the blackened is (and I think it's fine to say this since no killer has been revealed yet). I think that the killer is Whit, who killed Arei after Levi failed to kill her instantly. I think that Arei and Levi got each others secrets, but that would be too obvious imo. Plus, I noticed that Whit's been acting off since we found her corpse (the hanging out line is a prime example of this). Plus, while he has an alibi for before nighttime, we've already established that the water wouldn't evaporate as quickly in any other room. I had a theory before the trial originally that it was Whit because he used the water to make it more viewable to Charles, which would explain so much. Plus, my main point... WHY WOULD THE KILLER REMOVE HER BINDINGS AFTERWARDS!! It would just mean more time at the scene and all they did with it was dispose of it in the trash anyways. And if they were going to remove it, then why put it on in the first place. There are other ways to knock someone out. And then I realized something; this entire chapter, Charles has kept mentioning how Whit is 'too kind' and 'incapable of cutthroat behaviour'. That could be why he's acting so weird in the trial, and why I think it's a mercy kill done by Whit specifically. Not that I want this, but I think it's likely.

Theorizing So, I caught something I missed during my first watch of this trial. Whit could be lying about his secret. Since he claimed Rose's, and she didn't check who she had, no one can prove he's lying. Other characters might have a dead mother, but it's not like anyone can prove whose dead mother that secret refers to. Of course, this would only work if his real secret is also one no one can reveal. I'm pretty confident that Min and Xander got each other's secrets (which makes sense anyway, from MonoTV's perspective). This would mean Whit's only possible secret is, the murderer one. I was pretty confident that was Levi's secret, a lot seems to be pointing that way. But, suppose Levi's father murdered his mother, and he prefers to just not talk about it because it would bring up everything terrible about his family. It's hard to imagine Whit murdering someone outside of the killing game and not feeling remorse, but it may have been self-defense or something. I had noticed that there is a lot about Whit that's suspicious this trial. He held onto David's secret way longer than it made sense to. He keeps under reacting to things ("that's wack"). Of course, there's his off-putting hanging comment before the BDA, which I was writing off as the writer being cheeky. Something else I picked up on is how much Arei revealed to David about her encounter with Arturo. The killer didn't need to overhear the encounter in the infirmary if David told them about it. Arei also revealed that Whit was holding David's secret, which may have prompted David to meet with Whit and offer to collaborate. This would explain Whit keeping David's secret so long. The main thing that was fighting back against Whit being my prime suspect is that I couldn't see a possible motive. A dead mother is such a non-starter compared to many of the other secrets. But, if my theory about Whit lying about his secret is correct, that would produce the needed motive. I figured Whit probably wasn't going to survive the whole game, but I expected him to live much longer. If I'm right, this is going to be really hard on Charles, especially.

Hey, Weeby! Really enjoyed the stream today. Anyways, I was wondering if you could play Ayakashi Akashi. Its pretty similar to Danganronpa, and the characters bounce off eachother very well. Not many people know of the game, so it would be cool to see you play it! Basic rundown of the game; Creatures called “Ayakashi” (basically zombie spirit things) exist, and after a troubling incident, an ayakashi or maybe multiple ayakashi’s are disguised as some of the students in a Junior highschool class. The ayakashi will kill its victims, but the next day the victims come back unharmed and it seems as if the occurrence was just a dream. The idea is to find the wolf in sheeps clothing as you play as the class’s teacher.

Spoiler: I don't know which person's secret David got, but I'm pretty sure he lied about the secret being Xander's. Not only did he wait until everyone else went so he could choose a person that no one already said the name of, but I'm like, 95% sure that Min (would have) got his secret. In the second bonus epsiode, "Unnamed Student" tells Xander not to really beat himself up over what happened to his family all those years ago and that it wasn't his fault that he couldn't do anything about that massive epidemic or something (can't remember the details). He seemed to be slightly reassured, but quickly went back to his dull gray eyes. I have a theory that he's long since accepted that he couldn't do anything about it, but is still frustrated and upset about it nonetheless (who wouldn't be, he was 14!) and perhaps feels like he should have uhh... met the same fate as them? Honestly I feel like David may have gotten Teruko's secret but lied to keep things interesting. Of course there's still a good chance that I'm wrong but I feel like the opening shot of the prologue support this theory pretty well. But only time will tell! Also I have a feeling Hu may have gotten Min's secret? But maybe I'm wrong about that. If not her then Xander (would have) got hers. But it feels a little anti-climactic if both of the people who were dead before the murder reveal got each others' secrets. But, it's roughly 2AM and I'm sleep deprived-
