It's not how much you make, but how you manage it. I realized that even high earners can retire broke, while modest income earners can build wealth. Living below your means, adopting a frugal lifestyle, and consistently investing are the foundations of financial freedom. After 10 years of disciplined saving and investing, I celebrated hitting $2 million last year. Now, I'm cheering on everyone striving for financial independence. Remember, financial freedom requires ongoing effort, but the peace of mind is priceless.

I bought a 2000 Toyota Corolla in 2014 for $2k and THANK GOD I did cuz I have no idea how I'd stay afloat if I had a $700 car payment on top of everything else I have to pay for. She's still running great. Only maybe one or two large repairs needed in the 10 years I've had her. She's got other little things going on that don't effect how the car runs, but Out of the 2 cars I've had in my life she's by far the best. Take care of an older, well made car and it'll be in your life for a very very long time.

The avg. American is having a tough time, I know I am not alone. There are others in same position as me. By certain statistics: 22% of americans have no retirement savings. 64% are worried that they will not have money in latter years while 47% of adults who are not yet retired think they have to work part-time in retirement. How can I best grow the 100k I have saved seperately outside retirement access which of course had depleted over the years?
@joshbarney114Ай бұрын
It's recommended to save at least 20% of your income in a 401k. You can use online calculators to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. Saving at least 20% of your income in a 401(k) can help ensure that you have enough money to retire comfortably. By saving this much, you can take advantage of compound interest and potentially grow your retirement savings over time.

This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800,000.

I think I'm over all this save for retirement, max everything out so when you're super old and can't move you can finally enjoy your hard earned money. Don't buy anything nice because you have to save for retirement. Personally I believe in finding that sweet spot of saving while still enjoying the journey towards retirement. I'm also so tired of this cars are liability argument. A car that you have to keep fixing that's a liability. If I paid 40k for a car, drove it 5 years, then it's money well spent, anything left of value in a trade is BONUS in my eyes. I feel the same way with I trade in my phones, video games, whatever! Super controversial opinion, but interest isn't evil. It's the cost to borrow money. Spending extra so you don't have to wait YEARS to save for a car is worth in my eyes if you can afford. Yeah I paid 4k extra on my car but also got 2 years sooner. Money well spent. Enjoy your lives responsibility people!
