Fun fact about link, he has less frames of cliff wait compared to every other character meaning he can let go of ledge earlier than the rest of this cast. This makes his double jump ledge refresh relatively easy compared to everyone else.
@somerandombub2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't make it easier to have full intangibility, though, as the intangibility he gets is shortened just as much. It only makes the frame-perfect pattern you have to follow have a quicker beat than other characters.

On the topic of Mr. Game & Watch's nose intangibility... They didn't forget to give it to him. Rather, Mr. Game & Watch's head and nose hurtbox share the same bone attachment ID which is used for a lot of tasks in the program, one of which is to determine which hurtboxes to apply intangibility to. The problem? After finding the first ID in the list of hurtboxes to apply intangibility, the game ignores all subsequent hurtboxes sharing that same ID and exits the function. In this case: Mr. Game & Watch's head and nose hurtboxes are both attached to bone 20, but since the head hurtbox comes first, the nose is ignored and so would anything else after it on bone 20.

Your music choices always make me smile. I really wasn't expecting the 2011 "Originape Soundtrack" version of Specter's Castle from Ape Escape to explain invincibility and intangibility! You pick lots of relaxing sounds from less common sources that create a very cozy and genuinely casual atmosphere. It makes all the "competitive Melee" talk very inviting for those of us who generally would stay far away from it. You're not trying to prove anything or say "this is why this is the best/better than this other thing"...not even in the passive backhanded way a lot of gaming personalities and content creators always do. Your demeanor and friendliness are GREATLY appreciated as they enhance ypur humor and observations and your editing has true personality all its own. Bravo!

Anyway thanks for these amazingly informative videos. This is the kind of stuff I used to follow Hax for, but his last year of content has been nearly exclusively about his melee 1.03 mod and FAR more subtle aspects of melee that border on inhuman precision, as well as subjective perspectives on how they should be treated. Straight documentation like this is so much more enjoyable.

@AsumSaus It's really great when you include competitive gameplay as examples of what you're talking about! They are always great moment (especially if the commentators react to it!) and showcase super well how the tech can be an asset during top level fights. In fact, if you ever run out of material (which I doubt), it could be great to see you deconstruct specific tournament matches that were swayed by difficult exploits performed in real time. Btw the segment of Hbox abusing the edge against against Wizzy at the very end is peak (and deserved) arrogance. Really glad Wizzy stopped doing it so much. With this plus taking forever between matches, it was really annoying to see him delay the game all the time despite being very good. Much more enjoyable to see play in the last 1-2 years!
