Yeah. That scene where Omni-Man realizes that he's alone w/ nobody he knows watching & can just cut loose. And then he just casually reduces the entire Flaxan civilization to the stone age & flies around so fast he *ignites their atmosphere*? It's a chilling glimpse of what someone w/ that power level could actually do if they felt like it. I can watch that scene over & over. I found it just as stunning.

Obligatory clarification that Eve's symbol isn't supposed to be a crossed out female symbol, but one with two electron orbits around it (three in the original comic design); due to a miscommunication between the designers and the animators the simplified design for distant shots was used for most of her appearances (I believe there's _two_ short close-up scenes in the whole series where the proper symbol can be seen); the authors are aware of this and have stated that it'll be fixed in the next season.

Fun details: the trash bag that nearly hits the dad in the first minute of the show is the same one Mark absolutely yeeted in the first episode when he got his powers (they shows its from Burger Mart, where he worked). Also, "Stretchy Guy" is named Martian Man,and is, you know, from Mars. His homeless girl friend is just that, a friend :)

The Homelander vs Omni-Man thing is from a KZbin series called "Death Battle". After you finish Invincible I recommend watching it, although I would skip to the 13:00 minute mark of the video. Everything before that is talking bout things that happens in each series, and there are some spoilers in there. But from 13:00 on is just the battle and the wrap-up and there aren't any spoilers in there.

I read through the comics after this show and I became a huge fan. The worldbuilding is really fun, and they're completely earnest superhero stories. Kirkman basically spearheaded a whole shared superhero universe at Image Comics, with a bunch of really cool cross-over events.

Anytime, during the show, it seems like Omni Man might be struggling, I remember this scene. Man flew so fast he ignited an entire planet's atmosphere and basically beat an entire civilization back to the stone age like it was nothing. So... Yeah. That's what he can do when he is not holding back. Even in his fight with Mark, everything he did was cataclysmic... But was still *very* much holding back, in his own way, compared to what we've seen him do here. (I saw you've already reacted to the whole series, so fortunatly no spoilers 😂)

I feel like Mark complicates things for that exact reason. Offspring are not exempt. It explains why they all leave their home world to hero somewhere else. Also: "Earth isn't YOURS to conquer." If you watching on Amazon when you hover over the video it should list the cast in the scene. It is so fun watching modern viewer watch the comic stories I grew up on. Since Watchmen and The Dark Knight in the 80s there has been an attempt to make the reader question right and wrong in stories. Now that they are bringing the stories to the big and small screen. This is one of Image Comics stories that really took off. The moral questions it will force people to ask about the show and themselves should be interesting to see.

I won't lie, there is some awkwardly bad writing in this series that runs parallel with some great writing. Fortunately, the bad seems compartmentalized for the most part. You picked up on the awkwardly bad writing in this episode regarding Amber, Todd, & Mark. It doesn't feel organic to character motivations and brings up some important questions. - Amber has many ways to share a phone number with Mark. Her choice was to dig up dirt on Todd, then bully him with blackmail to push her number on Mark. - Amber shouldn't want Todd to ever have her number yet she gives it to him as part of her power move. - Todd learned humility publicly and stopped harassing both Amber & Mark. Amber's actions after that point does not paint her in a good light. - Why would Todd even tell Mark there is embarrassing information out on the internet that can be used to bully him? He risks Mark digging up that same information and bullying him as well. - Why would Mark be interested in Amber after learning what she did to Todd? Mark has a secret identity that he needs to protect. What if Amber one day decides Mark is a jerk and is able to dig up blackmail dirt on him?

Haha. Yeah, Nolan really cares for the people on Urath, I mean Earth. You really didn't read into the whole "Earth isn't 'yours' to conquer." line at the time. Also, he basically casually just committed genocide (Again. Everyone gets stuck up on the subway scene but that's nothing to what he already did in the hundreds or even thousands of years conquering worlds the old fashioned way.). All those cities probably did not just contain adult soldiers either. Not sure if you ever did or plan to do a re-watch of season 1 but you really have to pay attention to Nolan's dialogs and facial expressions to understand his layers. For Cecile this was his nightmare scenario. He suspected Nolan but didn't want to because it is basically the whole "What if Superman was actually a bad guy" trope. No one on Earth could possibly stop him.

I hate to tell you, but you are falling for the same things I did about Nolan. And the time between the second to last episode and the last was endless but you shouldn't watch them back to back because the last one takes something out of you. Rex kind of grows on you, he still has some falling to do though. Also, the cold open, that was the garbage Marc threw last episode. Also that is the security guard who tried to shoot one of the clones with the stepson he was talking about. And because I only know this from random discussions, the stepson has a weird role that they might be doing here because he shows up again. But they may decide that story is too confusing from the comics.
