I noticed a lot of scenes. Omni man when dissed by his son stared at him with blank eyes. There are other parts where I was not sure if it was bad animation or Omni Man was not sincere or real. (It’s definitely done on purpose btw) Omni Mans orogin story felt obviously off and perfect. Like every Viltrumite is born and sent to protect a planet, I mean come on. It’s probably a superiority complex or he’s rogue. I don’t know the newer episodes though DONT TELL ME COMIC FANS.

Someone who read the entire comic series, what they showed is nothing compared what happens later in the story. Shit goes down and it goes down hard on the characters. This comic and show is not for the faint of heart and will test how squimish you are. If you cannot wait for the next episode, read the comic. It is absolutely amazing.

Omni-man was actually clever to take 5v1, because he set up the whole situation to be without witnesses and set up an alibi (someone or something was powerful enough to take every hero and almost kill him). Othewise every hero would be alert after the first one got killed.

In the comics omni-man beats the guardians without taking almost any damage. Him almost dying was something the writers came up with for the show. But also if he fought them one on one, there was a much greater chance of him being found out in the process.

Plus, they can actually beat him, they just messed up with the teamwork aspect. If Red Rush had just supported his teammates instead of trying to fight they likely would have won (because he's way faster than Nolan in that scenario). That's why Nolan went for Immortal first, because he's the leader. Red Rush did actually hurt Nolan, and Nolan killed him like he did so he couldn't avoid him (he would just move out of the way of hits).

@Brian Babin the boys and Invincible predates it by 3-6 years, the comic is good but the first 9 issues are a pain to go through imo (mostly because of the flashbacks) but I honestly can't see it as a show its too short to be a seasonal show, maybe a mini series. The show could work if the mixed it with Incoruptible

@@AveSicarius I love ultra violence and it’s also a nostalgia thing too frfr. I’ve never had a bad trip and plan to keep it that way. It’s all about the environment your in and the people your with. I prefer tripping by myself and I never leave the house when I do. Favorite things to watch trippin have been Warrior, Hannibal, Preacher. The Raid series, and The Night Comes for Us, so invincible is pretty tame compared to those.

@Skyler Robinson Invincible Issue 1 was published in 2003. Kirkman wrote this when he was like 19. The dude is 42. So he wrote it in 1997. Dragonball Z came to the US in 1996. So would it be possible for someone not to have seen a show that was airing for a year? Honestly that seems pretty likely. He might not have known about Saiyans or anything before he wrote them but learned about it later and just handwaved it off.

I think the point of Omni man go against the “justice league” by himself is because he’s arrogant and he hides it very well. He knows he’s the strongest on earth so he thought they wouldn’t be able to do anything to him, obviously he was wrong.

The show is not bad. Omni Man killed all the Guardians of the Globe at once rather than individually because he wanted all of his major enemies dead before anyone of them had a chance to call for backup. There are thousands of heroes on the planet and even Omni Man couldn't have killed them.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with many of Joe's opinions on Invincible. The series suffers from being limited to 8 one hour episodes. This world seems half-baked to me, I cannot help but compare it to an obvious competitor My Hero Academia. In that world, the hero society is thought out and well developed. Next are the designs and characters. The only characters' design that I have liked has been Omniman. Every other character looks boring or is just a pallet swap of a typical superhero design. In my opinion, your superheroes need to look cool and unique to stand above the mainstream. Next is the dialogue, and writing I have read Kirkman's work before with the Walking Dead. He seems to make nearly every character sound the same in his dialogue, even when it doesn't fit the character at all. And I see that in some of the characters here as well. I assume some of the writing is taken straight from the source and this would match my take on Kirkman's writing. I haven't read the comics but I intend to check it out some time just in case I am missing the real story. So far the only reason I want to continue watching is to see what Omniman does next, he is the only compelling character and I would rather the story focus more on him.

They made the murder of the guardians an invincible fight to showcase that style. In the comic Omniman aced them. They didn't even see him. I read the comics to around 50. The show actually makes me like Cecil.

I feel like Alex misses the entire pull of this show. It's purposely juxtaposing the "normal" super hero stuff (including loving father, etc) with OH MY GAWD THAT GOT DARK. It's that juxtaposition that causes conflict and tension. Edit: Also they have made it really clear that his DAD is controlling how much he's doing super hero work.

It's because Omniman isn't actually Superman, who has long been established as a true hero with a good heart. Having Omniman be evil isn't a betrayal of characterization since, this is how he was created. As for the having sons part, I actually disagree with Joe on that in regards to Superman.

More than staying true to the source material, it's like they are improving upon it. Throw away characters like the OG Guardians of the Globe and Damian Darkblood gets more prominent roles. Some stuff that happened offscreen in the comic like Omniman's massacre in the Flaxian world are instead shown in full detail. More believable set ups are made for certain story elements (Robot is chosen as the leader of the New Guardians cause of his role in the Flaxian invasions, instead of just being simply made the leader with little reasoning right after the Old Guardians were dead). And etc. The source material was awesome, but the cartoon is amazing.

for once i actually agree with Joe here, it was way cooler and more brutal that he took on the entire group of heroes by himself, especially seeing how in later episodes it's shows how he thinks he is superior in every way. And when they actually gave him a run for his money and he was actually hurt, left me really satisfied with that conclusion to the fight. It wouldn't feel as personal or high stakes if there wasn't that feeling of "OH WAIT THEY MIGHT ACTUALLY TAKE HIM DOWN"
