Invincible Compendium Volume 1 Hardcover Overview

Invincible is my favorite comic. It got me back into comics after I got burnt out from the constant events and resets of mainstream super heroics.

I have the whole thing in issues and I bought the 12 volume Ultimate collection hardcovers! It's one of the best comic series I've ever read in my 30+ years of reading comics. The fact that it's written by one guy and mostly penciled by just 2 artists is amazing. The whole team was pretty consistent throughout, if anything they just get better as the story continues. It makes me sad that it's gone, but happy that I was along for the ride.

It is everything that makes manga successful and what comics should be like: - It is written by one author and has one continuity and not hundreds. - It has good storytelling. - It has a cartoon that is after the likeness of the comics, much like anime is to manga. - No woke garbage If more American comics follow suit and follow the Japanese comic (manga) model, then American comics can bounce back from the abyss of "Wokeology" that it's fallen into.

I got the softcover compendiums a while ago when Amazon had a great sale - but for new readers, ya can’t complain about a hardcover format!

I don't have a problem with the trim size and the cover dressing is awesome. Hoping they finish out the series in this format, I used to have the ohc's but they took up a lot of shelf space so I sold them

I just bought this today. Invincible is an amazing series that I recommend to any new readers. I’ve been looking for the hardcover everywhere here in Australia and my local store was sold out and I couldn’t get it online either. And just today while I’m away for work in Rockhampton, I visited the comic store here and they had it, thank god. Now, I I don’t mind the softcovers but unfortunately the shelf that compendium 1 was sitting on fell and the spine got creased and the back and front covers got bent and I was pretty sad about that. And tbh , personally, I don’t mind that it’s not an oversized HC or that it didn’t come with extra content if I have to pay an extra $95 for the better quality so be it, like I hope i’m not disappointing any hardcore collectors. Also I hope they reprint the hardcovers for compendiums 2 and 3

This is the best Superhero comics series ever. I have almost read all big events and series from DC and Marvel, but this one is the best. Read 144 issues in 1 week digitally. I was completely hooked. Have all 3 Compendiums already. will probably get these hardcovers too.

Pretty much a perfect edition for me, no dust jacket, good paper, regular size is fine for this art, just wish it had a rounded spine.

I loved this series for the first 60 issues or so. I thought it really started taking a nose dive after that. Tempting to "upgrade" to this from my OHCs just to save room on my shelf.

soft compendiums tend to get spine creases if read a lot, plus more gutter loss usually because there’s no eye on the spine - so if those are dealbreakers for you then the hc would be the go compendium 2 comes out fairly soon i believe so 3 shouldn’t be too far behind that

Fun fact I’ve read the entire run 3 times and didn’t know Mark was half Asian until I watched the show. The art style never occurred to me that his mother was Asian.

I was thinking of collecting the series is the trade paperback compendium the best way and also does it get reprinted a lot when it gets out of stock or is it like marvel trade paperbacks where you have to wait a couple of years before it gets reprinted I know invincible is popular though

I don't know why people like Ryan Ottley better than Cory Walker. I prefer the simpler shapes and flatter colors. It gives each character a far more traditional superhero look and that's a good thing.
