Invincible built insane momentum during season 1 becoming one of the most talked-about shows of the year with many moments going viral. After a grueling 2 and half year break, Season 2 built that momentum immediately with episode 4 rivalling some of Season 1's most popular episodes.
Most shows struggle to get that attention once, let alone twice. Mid-way through Season 2, an 8-episode season, Amazon put the Invincible on break yet again for 4 months. This was effectively the nail in the coffin and Invincible hasn't been able to regain the same momentum and popularity.

Check the google trends , it’s not as popular as s1 or s2 part 1. As I said at the end of the video tho, I hope this video ages like milk. If the rest of s2 blows up and is super successful, I’ll be happy. I’m a fan of the show after all.

It really shouldn't matter, but there's always that segment of an audience that only pays attention to something if it's got "hype" because they're only interested in "the conversation" surrounding things. It's dumb, but real. I just hope that it picks up more of its audience again because it's only getting better and better, and people have no idea where this story is going. I respect the confidence they do have in it to rely on fan word of mouth, but they seriously need to properly invest in marketing. What matters more than hype is attention, and nobody's gonna watch your show when you want them to if they don't even know it's debuting.

The schedule killed the hype for me. Too much time has passed and seasom 2 is arguably no where near as good as any of the stories that started in season 1. Only thing I felt from season 2 is we waited 2 years and months in between episode releases for THIS!?

That’s a fair point. I felt the same after episode 6. But episode 5 and 7 were good. If the season finale is also good then I think we can consider S2 Part 2 a success imo.

That a fair point but I don’t think this will be the formula. S2 (part 2 especially) was clearly a lot of build up. We got a lot of storylines established now. Mark training/leaving school FINALLY, Allen and Nolan, the viltrumites coming back to check on Marks progress etc. Most of the slow relationship bullshit has been dealt with so now we can really get to the meat of the story.

I honestly don't get this obsession with "hype" or only choosing to engage with something if it has it. Maybe this is because I refise to get overly hyped for literally anything (Star Wars and Marvel may have killed that side of me), but if something is good and I like it, I'm watching it regardless.

Hype culture is terrible and a recipe for continued disappointment, but it does exist and is a way for something to pierce through the noise of the perpetual information overload we're afflicted with and reach audiences that aren't currently interested but definitely would be if they saw the show

Season one was 70% cool fights and epic plot development mixed with 30% woke stuff that you just had to roll your eyes at and skip quickly. Season two has 70 to 80% woke or boring teen angst nonsense that you must ignore or skip to advance the main plot... And it never fails... Whenever I saw something too weird or artificial I would ask a friend who read the comics and he was like: "no... there isn't a gay best friend, a black gf, old viltrumite ladies fighting, or any of that focus on relationship problems in the comics". Basically in the last 4 episodes they hit Omniman a bit, and we find out the orange alien is stronger now... Nothing else happened story-wise after waiting and waiting for those 4 episodes... Newsflash: the type of viewer who likes fights with blood and gore is bored AF with relationship drama BS.

It's ridiculous how they've set up this huge dimension-hopping, Thanos-level baddie at the start of the season... only to completely abandon him until the very end.

I understand where you’re coming from. Ngl I never viewed Levy as a Thanos level threat tho. I think the episode do a great job in showing that he was mid level and more of a lesson for make to stop holding back but also train so he can use his full power in a controlled manor. I agree with some of your criticisms but I don’t think every season requires immense payoff. Sometimes building things with minor payoffs now for a major one later is much more satisfying and leads to a better story overall. I guess it comes down to perspectives.

You could rename your title to "Invincible NEEDS this to do well" to put the show in a positive light and a positive direction instead of a title and thumbnail that is completely negative. I usually dislike seeing completely negative titles for IP's I want to see improve and seeing negative title/thumbnails doesn't help. Good for clicks but the initial thought process when looking at the video is negative.
