UPDATE: here's is Timothy's Cash App $HoneyyDidIt. People are complaining Timothy has a gang tattoo. I did a little research: as a result of prison wars, all Hispanic California street gangs align themselves with the Sureño or Norteño movements. Judgmental people never take into account what people have to do to survive! I have visited Timothy six times now. Each time, Timothy has been respectful and kind. He cares about his girlfriend, their dogs, and their homeless neighbors. We need more people like Timothy and less judgmental assholes who look for excuses to put others down, having never walked in. their shoes.

Nothing necessarily wrong with gangs. In societies devoid of social support like the US, people look for support where they can. When gangs try to unite and reduce their fighting etc, cops stop them from improving their behavior, and cops infiltrate and attack them to prevent them from improving their behavior, not to mention cops helping flood poor neighborhoods with drugs to destroy them. In Brazil during the pandemic, gangs in favelas, who are always demonized and attacked by cops just like in the US, Brazilian gangs in favelas organized food delivery and other necessary activities in neighborhoods, something social services did not do.

I love you. I love this man. I've been there. I'm disgusted by our society and the deliberate denial of services,I've noticed,I'm Irish in England that all the homeless here have disappeared..and they haven't been housed. I abhor what's happening..I can't believe it's illegal to feed homeless people or the amount of times he's been displaced. I got told my dad died yesterday,him and my mother were the reason I ended up running away from home as a teenager, I was blessed I met an amazing man, unfortunately he died despite having loving wealthy parents who did everything to help him. I think sat here in LD land in a flat on my own I miss the community I had living in vehicles with other people. Being put in a flat alone I totally comprehend why people go back to the streets. It's lonely, you're faced with you,the scars... whilst the abusers seemed to carry on living with impunity and not a mark on their body. God bless you for your amazing channel. You're a wonderful man,I wish I knew people who knew what was going on. Is this really progressive? Treating human beings like they do? God bless you xxxx

Yes Diana. Homeless families and children are currently in Eire, however they are very visible- considering we are flooded with illeg@l immigration,they are housed in 5* hotels whilst our own are left to die-if it were not for the church and kind people paying out of their own pockets to feed families especially Irish ones they'd starve. NFA= no benefits. Why don't you take a look at some of the current pictures of four-year-olds eating their one hot meal a day on the streets of Dublin.

As a former social worker with homeless people in Austria, I am soooo disgusted that officials do things like those sweap outs. Judgement against homeless people, making obstacles so high for finding housing or income is one thing, but trashing someone's few clothings, sleeping bags and food on purpose, a basic necessaty for surviving? This is just pure cruelty. How can those people still look in the mirror and feel good about themselves? I am in a way speechless....

I´ve never been to prison, smoked, done drugs, etc. I have a family and I´m theoretically homeless. I can´t pay the rent because I lost my job due to the pandemic. We are tempted to judge people why they don´t just leave poverty. It´s hard even for hardworking people to hold on to the status of housed people. I have friends who are home owners but looking to sell their homes so they can buy food and all the basics. I have seen folks who used to go on expensive and luxiorious vacations and having a hard time surviving because in a heartbeat they found themselves with nothing.

It's extremely hard to get off the streets expecting the gov't. to rescue 50,000-70,000 homeless folks. Many have crazy histories (drug addiction, mental illness & incarceration) leading them down this dark path & it's difficult to climb out of this hole. The families of some have turned their backs on them & property owners are saying "not in my back yard." Once the war on drugs ends, mass homelessness numbers will decrease.

If 5 people were stranded on an island without any resources to survive, the whole nation would freak out, have pity on them, and would rescue them immediately with helicopters and everything. But we walk past hundreds of people on the streets who don't have ANY resources to survive, even though they are in the middle of civilization. It's crazy to me how everyone can have a warm bed to sleep on in the cold, food to eat, water to drink, and a secure place to live and walk past someone who doesn't have those things and not do anything even though they can. Like, these people could die out in the cold, and no one would even look at them. It seems like the second someone becomes homeless they are immediately lower than a dog. Seriously, people take better care for homeless dogs than they do homeless people.
@colibri1

On the homeless disappearing, possibly because of cops, I've had homeless people tell me a number of times that homeless people just suddenly disappear, no one able to find them. I once was in an area in the US where homeless people commonly went through trash dumpsters. I saw a probably homeless man there with a backpack walking toward a dumpster, thought nothing of it, went back to what I was doing, then heard a gunshot and a cry for help, followed by a car door slamming and the sound of tires racing away. I ran in the direction of the sound to see what it was and saw the homeless guy's backpack abandoned beside a dumpster and no sign of the homeless guy. In Brazil and other far-right Latin American countries, it is not uncommon for paramilitaries/death squads/etc, often made up of off-duty cops, to kidnap and murder the poor and homeless, especially homeless children. That probably happens in the US these days, too.

I have heard of at least 3 who have had experiences similar to Timothy where they were told they were going to get housing, only for it to be pulled or changed last minute. I literally can't count the amount of stories I have heard about LAHSA and PATH workers standing folks up for appointments. Where are the lawyers suing the city or PDs on behalf of these people being denied civil rights? The reward could help them get out of poverty. Some of the things he described sounds illegal.

That's not going to happen until people like you demand it. Look at the changes made because of the protests last summer (2020). When all of you construct protest like that against homelessness, armed with the facts, then things will change. Hand wringing does nothing.

Why is it that illegal immigration are allowed in the UK and US and given a house and a homeless people are still on the street when the homeless person was there in the country first? I feel really sad for this guy aswell as others who are in the same situation

@@Dargili a refugee and an illegal immigrant that you referenced in your first comment are two different kinds of people. indeed refugees are offered housing, but for a limited time. illegal immigrants are not offered any form of housing assistance.

If the homeless in LA get a home, and then they become the victim of a crime, the person would refuse to call the police for help, after being the victim at police hands while homeless. And I was gonna say, "Next they'll throw away his food," and right after I thought that, he said they threw his food away. What happened to "serve and protect?" "Arrest" isn't the entirety of the police's job. "Service" is the job of the police. "Arrest" is just part of their job. But, people like this guy would say "The job of the police is to harass you and kick you while you're down." Because that's how they treat him. The very people who are there to protect you from such behavior, are, themselves, the ones treating him that way. What I would say to this guy is: Find a place outside LA, where you can hide from everyone. If there's a cave in the mountains (it IS California, after all) ..... A place like that, away from the city, away from the suburbs, away from all human population, and where no human can find you......live there. That's what I would tell this guy.

It’s obvious that going to work everyday paying bills rent car note is easier safer and more productive then this. I know people fall on hard times but this lifestyle should be avoided at all cost.

I have traveled through more than 70 countries and never have seen the number of homeless that we have. Does anyone know of a good book or study as to why this is? India has a reputation for having a child homeless problem but it is my understanding that we in the U.S. have more homeless children despite that India has 4x the population.
