Inward Heelflip - First Person/Super Slow Motion

Definitely super tricky to get in the view of the camera, but I think it looks pretty good! Hope you guys enjoy!
So this gives a pretty good representation of what I mean by "flicking more out than a usual heelflip". I don't flick like a heelflip and I don't flick straight outwards (I find that awkward to do in my opinion), I flick at more of an angle than your average heelflip. 0:50 is also a pretty good clip that teaches this.
Take note that I set my back foot in the middle of the tail, this is so that the board does not 1) Tilt, making the flick difficult, or
2) Do a cheater pressure flip like a few other people do, those make the trick less difficult and super ugly
Also the whole "have the board flip between my legs" thing screws me up a whole lot. I kind of picture the nose of the board just barely scraping the inside of my front foot when I start the rotation, after that I just lift my feet up like every other trick.

Hey was wondering if you could make a video for varial heelflips, I've been struggling with this trick for months now and every time I look up a trick tip they never give me any valuable information. If a video if a little too much then maybe you could just give me a few pointers. I really appreciate your videos and keep up the awesome work.

Chandler Sallaberria yeah I'm not too good with putting out videos on time haha, but for inward heels, first make sure that your fs shoves are at like a 2 or 3 out of 5 consistency and your heels are 2 or 3 out of 5 as well. If they aren't then you will end up wasting a lot of your time. Now for varial heels, a lot can go wrong with them. If you have a specific problem about them, then I'll toss in a few tips. But yeah, if your fs shoves and heels aren't very consistent that's definitely something you should work on first.

***** I'm pretty consistent with both my front shoves and heelflips, I can pop them pretty high and land them aout 80% of the time. I can form varial heels, but the problem is that there either isn't enough rotation to get the full 180 or it only flips halfway and the board lands facing down on the grip tape

hmm well with varial heels (and varial kickflips too) it's one of those tricks where 95% of the trick will be previous tricks that you know (in this case: back foot does a simple fs shove while your front foot does a simple heelflip). Make sure that you are not skimping out on your techniques, most notably: making sure that you are flicking straight outwards and away (just like any flip trick). I don't know why but that always seems like a very common pitfall people have when it comes to varial tricks, just not flicking correctly. If you don't flick properly, that would also kill the horizontal rotation which could give you a 90 degree shove rotation. So yeah, do your fs shove and heelflip and make sure you are flicking proper (kick outwards - not up and not down, and flick away). Those things are huge.

For varial heels, having a good frontside pop shuv it is vital. And because the board isn't staying in the same area because of the shuv it, heelflip a little harder than you normally would to compensate.

joseph sherlock yeahhh, the trick (for me) is to kick out a little bit more of an angle than a usual heelflip, don't care about it going through the legs because it barely does much of that, that's what helps me out anyway

Max Perez Have you checked out my ultimate trick tip? That should totally help you out if you haven't already. For some quick info: I would keep doing 1/2 heelflips and landing those. That is an amazing step to accomplish if you are having trouble tucking your legs. Just remember that for tucking: you want to tuck after you have flicked the board, have *BOTH* knees almost meet your chest, emphasis on "both" here. If you are having trouble getting the full rotation, make sure that you flick *into* the skateboard, you do this by flicking outwards. Do *not* flick up and do *not* flick down, flick out. Hope that helps!
