Iron shelter in the mountains for tourists, Winter abandoned van, Inserted windows and stove

Restoring an abandoned van in the mountains. Today I put in the windows and installed the stove. Now everyone who passes along the trail will be able to spend the night or just warm up in this van.

These videos will help the future generations to survive. We have no clue what is to come in this world and sometimes it scares me to imagine. I know I have lived in a tough period of the last 60 years but I fear that it is going to much more difficult for future generations. For all those young men and women to come. They can learn from your videos how to survive when we are long gone and the world becomes worse than we have ever known, maybe even use one of these places that you have visited and repaired. Thank you for doing this, you may save lives by making this shelter from the storm. Well done, sir! It looks like someone had a similar idea, years and vandals ago. I'm hoping the vandals got their just reward and won't be back. Thus is very generous and caring to do this for strangers. Great little stove! I think what's left of a structure at the end must have been shelter for animals?

Вандалы в лице егерей разгромили этот фургон.. на атомы разложили-выбили стекла,снесли крышу и вынесли пластик с окон и печку...Дима их встретил на спуске и все забрал.. но хижину разнесли до неузнаваемости..

That place will surely save lives if comeone gets lost or hurt and finds that shelter. A sign should be put up so people can find it. People should never go alone in those areas anyway, especially in snow storms. You have a good soul to help out.

It’s a great idea, though I hope that vandals won’t tear it apart or a thief won’t take the stove. I don’t want to be negative but sadly there are people like that out there, and I have heard more than one content creator speak about suffering such misfortune. If the repairs are respected that shelter may very well save some lives in severe storms in future winters, so a big thumbs up for an inspiring show of altruism. 👍👍

This is so unique, I would love to be a tourist and be able to stay in it. Unfortunately would not survive the climb. Hope you continue and leave a journal for people to write in about their stay. What a view through those windows!

next time with the expanding foam, run a bead on the bottom and let it expand and partially set... then you can stack another layer on top.. repeat till you have filled the void. similar to filler welding. this will help with use.. allowing you to do more around there.. im really loving where this is going. i cant wait to see how much you do.. hoping you fix the awning/covered area outside once spring comes around. maybe sooner if you are up to it.. either way.. im excited to see whats next

Excellent advice. Another method would be to stuff the larger openings with whatever is available and allow the foam to glue it in, saving on foam.

also just a suggestion.... those open area that you put insulation foam... chicken wire can creat a base to stick to .. but as much as you put it should be fine.
