A stone cabin in the mountains saved me from a blizzard | SOLO OVERNIGHT

I was always taught to leave the place better than when I found it and clean out the stove and set it up so that in an emergency someone can make a fire quickly. Leave the matches out on the table spread apart so that someone with frozen hands can still pick the matches up and strike them.

Me too. You ALWAYS leave dry tinder and wood, and a can of food if you got. Don't leave food that would being animals, like jerky or dried fruit. Also leave a candle and some waterproof matches along with a note or a little gift to say thank you. I ALWAYS carried utiity candles and waterproof matches along with a small tin of char cloth. Once in Canada, in a little hootch ike this, when I blew my candle out, there were about 50 gray rodent critters swarming the place. Crawled on my face chewed my hair and cwool hat. Freaked me out big-time.

Okay, so... at 30:30 of 33:20 I still don't see a blizzard. Like all of the last 6 "out in the wilderness" videos I've watched (all in the winter, with snow), everyone has had tea of some sort. Okay, fine, in the evening. But in the morning? Nothing. No coffee. Watched a guy prepare a fabulous breakfast with sausage and eggs and other goodies, and... no coffee! Barbaric! Gotta say this, though: that guy in this video made a fabulous stew (I wanted some!).

Yeah, and the format/formula is always the same: 1) 'Find' the cabin 2) Clean up the cabin 3) Collect wood/light a fire 4) Break out a bunch of raw meat & vegetables and cook a hot meal from scratch 5) Sleep ONE night during a 'blizzard' and then leave the next day
