The departure out of Runway 23 is even more beautiful with clear sky. You get to turn east after initial climb, and see the entire suburb, downtown Toronto and the airport. When I flew the same flight last October, it was around sunset, making it even more spectacular.

May I ask your thoughts? I’m 49 years old and I am thinking of starting training to be eventually hired by an airline. Do you think I am too old? Realistically speaking? Will I be considered? Thank you in advance for your response.

Believe me a good pilot does know when to retire and stop flying. You’re there because of competences, not ego and certainly not to endanger people because you think you can fly forever.

@@adolfop69 My opinion you could never be to old to fly I have been flying years now and I never get tired of it so even though your 50 now because its been 1 year you could still become an airline pilot and the plane I fly is the boeing 737 MAX and I love that aircraft so go for your life and become an airline pilot I promise you that you won't regret it oh yeah I don't post videos of my flights becuase I don't feel like doing all that hard work so I just fly mobile simualtors when Im not at home lol

The roar of those engines is the best. It reminded me of my trip from Vancouver to Toronto on the majestic AC 777 last week. It was the flight I have enjoyed the most, although it was shorter. I would have liked to fly on the 777 for at least 8 hours.

At times it’s amazing how the flight crews can understand the fast spoken English and repeat it back. When listening to these types of videos I’m always glad to hear instruction from controllers being spoken at a slower pace. I think the most difficult English accent to understand is probably from Japanese controllers. They speak fast!

It's interesting, you'd think that we'd be so technically advanced now that you'd type in the flight number, and CLICK, all the buttons set to what they need to be at that second. But that's not the safe or efficient way to do it, and enough mistakes are made where there are assumptions made, even by pilots. And these guys are STILL smarter than the elements, the radios, the problems in back, the broken landing gear, the loss of hydraulics, a flared out engine and a goose stuck in the windshield, and they bring these down like landing on a bubble bath. As a passenger I want to know that the plane CAN land itself, but that there's someone there doing it anyway. (Although I've seen a plane land in windshear that acted like there wasn't any windshear.) THANK YOU flight crews!!

I can barely understand what they're saying even with subtitles. How do foreign pilots possibly understand the garbled, fast English that ATC spits out at them? I'm sure it's a problem for some.

@treynolds94
@treynolds94 Жыл бұрын
What he said above plus the route and everything has already been planned. The pilots know every waypoint and where to intersect the localizer and mostly everything ATC is going to say when it comes to what you filed which you should know if you filed it. ATC has the route planned and give the pilots permission to follow. Everything is just repeating what is already known. Departure plate would tell the pilots everything other then weather and takeoff speeds ect. Steps; 1.flight planned filed to Atc 2. Pilots ask for clearance for that planned route. 3.Atc gives clearance with readback on flight filed with departure, transition, intinial climb and when to expect climb via sid(standard instrument departure) squawk code, and rnwy for departure. 3. Pilots call for permission for pushback from ground. 4. Push back engine start procedure. 5. Call ground once ready for taxi clearance. Given taxi to departure rnwy via taxiways given by ground.(Pilots have all the airport info taxiways, gates ect. at their disposal most modern aircrafts will actually show where they are in real time on the taxiways and gates. If not sure or crappy weather where you cant see on the way to gate request follow car. 6. Hold short departure rnwy. Takeoff procedures. 7. Request takeoff from Tower. Clearance given wind direction and speed, and departure frequency which is also already know. 8. Line up and takeoff. ATC stuff is very easy if you are prepared. The most confusing is abreviation such as RBF which would be redbluff waypoint if you havent looked up that RBF is redbluff could be really confusing when told turn proceeding direct redbluff but you can find it to program the waypoint.
