I just picked up an ION Alpha + 8 inch as an upgrade to my ION X 8 inch. Never had a problem with my ION X. With EASE I can tell the weight difference between the two and I can't wait to get out on the ice with it.

I remember when my buddy’s battery went down in the hole. It flew off the auger motor.. he first lost the first battery on the road. He has bad luck or careless. He just fried his gen 2 battery charger. Now he is frantic. It’s the first day of the year. Bad start

@@joem8875 Yup! Most serious people would use gas augers. But I'm getting tired of lugging that thing around. I tried manual one but by the time a couple of holes are drilled, I'm completely out of breath. I have found good success with drill attachments. Looking to see any other options. Happy ice fishing!!

That bar keeps the battery off the ice, my buddy froze mine in 3 mins the other day resting my ion battery directly on the ice.
