Hi Brandon, I’m using the iOS Beta 2 on my secondary device a 13 pro max, the battery is a bit better, the only feature draining it: the ‘game mode’.

As someone with bad handwriting, I think they are trying to confirm that’s what you want. (My 9s and 4s look identical) but I do agree that this is not an elegant solution.

Here the thing; they are ONLY implementing this change during the Beta to teach the LLM, after which it will know handwriting from millions better and be more instant again. Trust me.

@@BrandonButch With your note open, tap the 3 dot menu in the top right corner, choose Math Results, and then change it from “Suggest Results” to “Insert Results,” and it’ll go back to popping up instantly like it used to. Unfortunately, it seems like you have to do this for every note, it’s not a global switch

i majorly dislike the new scrub bar in photos. i loved being able to scroll images, play pause and scrub in a few gestures with one hand.

I’m on Beta 2 and found a bug. Forwarding a screenshot to an Android user through RCS is not going through. You have to save it to your photos first, then select it, then send to your Android person. Another bug for me. My keyboard times out when typing a message with lots of characters. It’ll disappear then have to tap message text box to bring the keyboard back up.

I personally love the new features in the photos app, but me having to scroll down just to be able to select photos gets kinda tedious. as far as bugs I've noticed, for some reason, my calculator and camera widget keep disappearing from my control center. happened twice now, which is odd. also, i switched my app icons from dark back to light, but when im in my app switcher, the icons still show them in dark mode. hopefully those get fixed soon

Love the option to put quick notes as one of the selections on the lock screen at the bottom. I use quick notes all the time and this will come in handy.

I do like the new Photos App. My only issue with it is, that it seems that the option to select multiple photos from the galery is gone. It still works within albums though, which I find very odd. But I do like the way everything is integrated into one page. In my oppinion it makes the app look much more modern.

Took a second to get used to, but I think it looks a lot more interesting, plus I really like the features on the main page when you scroll down. Not sure if you found this bug already, but if you play a video with audio from the photos app the volume glyph won't do anything at all besides allowing you to hear the audio the first time you click it. Also, in messages (also playback related) any video that you play that you send, or get sent to you, wont have playback controls.

I had a carplay bug where carplay froze my head unit. I was using Apple maps to navigate, while listening to the podcasts. I tried pausing the podcast and boom, frozen. I unpluged, phone was still operational, plugged back in, carplay restarted and everything went back to working.

I think I accidentally found one more new thing in iOS 18. When you go to a smaller view (that one that uses only half of the screen) the Dynamic Island is not showing anymore as before. It just disappear and content is shown on its place

yeah, although it might be because they want it to be reliable, when you have it in icloud in imessage it will be sent even if your phone is turned off, but still should be a thing for other phones. personally if my phone was off i wouldn’t want it to send it anyway 💀

I love the new photos app, it’s more fast & fluid to navigate through. Set it up as you like, although it maybe can use some optimisation I am so happy with it. A thing I’ve noticed already from beta 1 is that the DANISH KEYBOARD language has word swiping now. You should cover that if any other languages got that. Before it was limited to my English keyboard. It took years to get danish keyboard swipe. Finally 👏🏻 so many great features in iOS 18, Lock Screen, Home Screen, control center, app locking. Thanks Apple 🙏🏻 the most annoying bug though is that screen time still crashing in settings. In beta 1 it crashed immediately, in beta 2 it freezes for a bit then crashing the settings app.

iOS beta 18 here and tonight my iPhone 14 Pro Max started shutting down randomly. Had to vol up/ down and side button to get it back on. I checked and found 3 logic board failures starting around 2:30 am EST and again two more times between 5:30am and 6am. Anyone else having this issue?

I like the way the photos app has organized albums and added extra utility, but it should be on separate tabs instead of via scrolling in and out of the camera roll. I also HATE that there’s no way of scrubbing through a video with the video still fullscreen. I wish they would just put the timeline over the video like they used to
