Good video mate, as a long time android boy since the galaxy note 2 and iPhone boy since the 12 pro max and now 14 PM , and a pixel and note owner , as a non biased dude , i like what apple has done. Even long before ios 18 was mentioned, many times i had hoped apple would bring more quality of life features rather than just gimmicks we would hardly ever use , which in the past was fairly common on smart phones of any brand , apple has put a big effort into this update for sure. Well done Apple.

I’d get excited for Apple Intelligence if I could use it, but it’s limited to two phones when the 12 and newer could run it (they’d just push a bit more to the cloud instead since they have 6 GB RAM). There’’ve been summarisation tools from Samsung and text rewrite tools from Grammarly for years at this point. Also the Tensor chips in the Pixels have been doing circle to search and subject removal in photos for years now and you mean to tell me that only the A17 Pro chips and newer can do it?

Apple Intelligence is an opportunity to TM something that has already existed while trying to distance themselves from the noteriety of AI. Ultimately, it still falls squarely in line with everything we have come to know and expect. It's the same cheek on the same ass, and honestly, I trust apple as much as I trust one of their ironically named "geniuses" at their stores - thst is to say, not very much. That being said, now that icon customisation is available, albeit insanely limited in apple fashion, it's nonetheless closer to ushering in multiwindow multitasking, more ram and the ability to actualy have a versatile device. My biggest bugbear is the lack of recently copied text in the keyboard, like a clipboard to make more efficient use of the device and prevent needlessly navigating back and forth between sources to copy & paste recent information without being overwritten by the most recent copy. It still stands to reason that apple have a way to go before there is competitive platform parity with android versatility and customisation. Needless to say, that walled garden is still frustratingly standing.

As an Android user since the first phone I owned, my brother in Christ what are you on about? I get the whole iOS vs Android war but it's gotten really stale. As much as I still don't like and won't use Apple products, this WWDC was genuinely packed with some good stuff. Math notes, satellite SMS, more seamless iPhone mirroring on the Mac... Sure Android may have those features long before but you gotta admit Apple, for better or for worse, refined them for their products. As for AI, specifically, I'd rather choose Apple's approach than having Gemini telling me to go jump off a bridge if I feel depressed.
