You can find tons of helpful stuff for visually impaired people as well as the VoiceOver thing that was mentioned (it basically reads out loud whatever you're selecting on the screen, reads messages out loud, comments and I think it even describes some pictures for you)

One thing I hope that the upgrade does, is fixing issue I have with KZbin. I’ll be watching a video, pause it, come back to it later, and when I unlock my phone, KZbin reset itself, and I lose my place in the video that is annoying Little bug that I have not heard you or anyone else mention. That’s RAM offloading. Not a bug - KZbin gets killed for taking up too much RAM for too long in the background and forced to reload when you open it.

Just click the bottom right icon “My KZbin” or whatever it is in your language and you should see your history of videos you’ve watched with the exact time you’ve left the video. Hope that helps!

8GB of RAM on the 16 series (and 15 Pros) should help mitigate that. Depending on what device you have, you could be dealing with just 4GB of RAM, so apps getting killed in the background isn't surprising.

I appreciate all these improvements, but as a long time iPhone user since gen 1 it is interesting to see how complicated iOS has become. Not necessarily a bad thing but a profound observation when thinking about the whole evolution of iOS. I guess I’m just getting old too. 😅

I hate how you aren’t able to customize control center when in horizontal mode. The control center completely reorganizes when horizontal and looks horrible. Secondly there is no WiFi icon that can be added besides the connectivity box which has feature that are no use for me. Lastly organizing the control center and moving icons is very frustrating as they all move randomly!

the amount of people that don’t know this is both scary and hilarious to me. Why on earth would you want to use beta software when you know sh..it about it?! I feel like they just gave us beta 1 ios 18 because this ios 18 is VERY SLOW and buggy. My call kept going in and out and there is a MAJOR ICLOUD STORAGE BUG.....when I was on ios 17.6.1 I had 57mb storage in icloud now it went up to 87 and just keeps increasing. I barely do anything on the phone and I barely have anything on the phone. HOW IS THIS HAPPENING......this is why I think theres a glitch in ios 18 but Im not sure. I also find it funny because when u go to iphone storage it says I have all this free space yet my icloud shows at the top with the green dots that very little is being used but the NUMBER says 87mb WEIRD right?

Another way to look at this is that Apple just dropped a Beta to the entire public. It’s the same build as the RC including all of the known issues and bugs. They didn’t make any improvements or fixes in an entire week to make it more stable for final. Welcome to the beta, public users!

Apple knows years in advance what features various edition iPhones will have. They knew years earlier that AI was a going to be released in 2024 . I upgraded my 14 Pro Max to iOS 18 on Monday. About 48 hours after the install, my WiFi connectivity degraded dramatically. I keep losing connection and I have to shut the phone down and reboot it to get connection back. But within a couple hours WiFi connectivity dies again. My iPad Air (5th Generation) and Apple Watch are working fine. Just the iPhone is having a problem.

Advise waiting until it has been out in the wild for a bit, let others discover bugs, so they can be addressed. Otherwise, there’s no other reason why not to use iOS18 on your 12. You may notice a slight slowdown due to processor, RAM demands, but Apple wouldn’t place it on its updatable list unless it was fully compatible. Unfortunately, you may or may not be able to use Ai in the future (without cloud assistance, as your processor and RAM maybe inadequate, incompatible). In any case, at least update to 17.7 for security patches. Don’t procrastinate.

Tbh, every ios update at launch has had major battery draining issues. It takes upto about 6 weeks to fix. That's why I never update my phone, unless there is no issue. Or unless the issue is resolved. Updating it right away is very hazardous to your battery health. Some people drop 1% of battery health a week, until the issue is solved. There were people at 100% health after a year then a month later went to 96% just because of immediate updates. It's always best to wait. Last year I waited until 17.1 and I may do the same this time. So 18.1 won't be ready until late October and I'm fine with waiting another 5-6 weeks

I’m on the 11 pro max. I could say the battery is way better after installing. And my phone feels faster after I upgraded from iOS 17 to 18. I think Apple is mastering the iOS software in iPhones that works with the phone’s current hardware

One thing I’ve noticed is that battery improved after updating to iOS 18. My only issue is the iPhone mirroring sometime it has glitches when needed password. But not all the time. Since this is 1.0 version And it can be improved on the next update. So far, everything is great! So, no worries on updating it to iOS 18 now 😁

Just a slight suggestion from me, could you please move the subtitle/remark of the new feature slightly higher, or to the top left? Sometimes I watch with subtitles, and to read the remark, I have to turn them off. Even without subtitles, the KZbin play bar tends to block the view. Thank you so much!

Control centre is total miss (looks like Android now) and somehow video recording on my 14 Pro Max is way off. Stabilisation, switching between the lenses/zooms, color shift - reminds me of video recording on Samsung devices.

My IPhone 15 battery percentage is down. Every morning I’m at 100% and when I get home it’s around 70% now after iOS 18 update it’s at 37%. So battery life is an issue!

I'm gunna wait until like 18.1 or something. I do that every year. Because updating immediately causes battery drain and even battery health drain and phone heating and excessive charging. So it's safe to wait, if you actually care about the longevity of your phone and it's battery health. This is part of the reason why my old iPhone doesn't go to 99% battery health until at least 18 months of purchase. Charging from 30-80% also helps. Never letting it go below 30 and over 80

For battery health you should totally charge it from 40% and dont charge above 60% trust me bro cuz i said so.

@@Mycarisloose not really. I charge my phone to 80% when it's on 30% and I do that once a day. Not too much there. New iPhones from 15 and newer can now stop charging between 80/85/90/95 and I'd pick 80% if I had a newer iPhone, but I don't. I've had a 13 pro max for about 3 years now and it's on 96% battery health, whereas I have family members who use their phone less and have a lower battery health. Same phone. People with 14 lineup experienced battery health draining so fast. There are people that have theirs on 82-85% and that's just within 2 years

You need to plug it into your laptop or pc and do a tethered update. If you are on Beta 18 you cannot do an OTA update unless you want the next Beta 18.1 version, etc.

@@jayreghe3415most bugs I noticed is the animation like the widget animation (when exiting the widget) would have a square shape animation, the notification on the lockscreen repeats the animation bug back in iOS 17.2 (I think), and last the control center edit option would freeze while scrolling.
